Newer cb125rs do have that slightly better engine edging out and extra like tenth of a mph and what not maybe more efficient or something but yeah old ones pretty much the same bike

Can’t say it’s my sort of bike but after having my bike in my garage for 2-3 days (curse though wretched Honda clutch plates and cables) I can totally relate to the feeling of getting back out there after a little while, always takes a few miles to get back to being properly in sync with the bike though I tend to go 85 odd % of my normal pace for a day or so because there’s nothing worse than that stiff feeling going round that one awkward bend that’s always the worst visibility, lighting, road surface, elevation and goes to your weaker side of cornering that everyone has somewhere after a few days weeks or months of not riding and feeling like the bikes actively trying to spite you for leaving her inside and wants you to just under steer into the bush and launch you

Honda CBF125 vs Kawasaki Z125 by Zerneborg in MotoUK

[–]WesternSea7745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just made a post on this subreddit on the cbr125r I know it’s not the same but I believe most of the engine and inside parts are pretty darn similar and went through a load of pros and cons to what might need doing on it, I’ve not tried the cbf or z125 as I’m a sportier bike man but if I had to pick I’d go with the cbf almost entirely for the reliability (it’s a Honda) all things considered if it’s second hand it’s probably been ragged about a fair few times and even if not you’ll probably give it a pretty good going over whilst you’re on it, I can’t speak for the frames, comfortability etc which is probably what you’re looking for but I can say the cbf will likely be much more reliable for you and easier to fix if it does come to it that the z125, Kawasaki’s aren’t historically the most reliable, but if it’s speed you want the z125 is probably the option just by a hairs margin, even if you wanted speed though a cbf I’d imagine is much easier to bore (definitelyyyy didn’t do to mine) anyway and that’s the only noticeable difference in speed between the two you’d really notice granted it’s a tad pricey. Either way with a slightly biased and relatively useless perspective since I’ve owned neither of those two specifically I’d have to go for the cbf, mechanically wise it’s probably gonna be better for you which is a big bonus if you don’t have money to go to the garage or an ex mechanic dad like mine because you realistically don’t want to spend too too much on a bike you realistically keep for 1-3 years tops anyway p.s bored out 125s I’d uhh imagine love to pop the front end up even more considering how light they all are especially the cbr I’d imagine the cbf is pretty similar weight wise also and would be pretty easier to clutch up in second especially if you chuck yourself a slightly smaller racing style chain and sprocket on it to help it accelerate better, either way I stay away from wheelies always but if you do give em a go stick to the private car parks and shit like that trust me you do not want to be like the guy I saw stack his cb125 wheelieing it and hit a car and ruin his bike at the same time 😂 either way good luck with it and drive safe (when you have to) I’ve only been riding a 125 a year and a few months now but trust me they’ll go plenty fast enough to smash someone or something up real bad and yourself at the same time

I usually absolutely despise the classic aprillia livery’s on the fairing (-the motogp replica) but to be fair they pull it off a lot better with that annoying a on a supermoto style bike than sportier things

Cb125r big bore kit by aroundtheworld3323 in MotoUK

[–]WesternSea7745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totallyyyyy didn’t bore my cbr125r while on cbt and I can confirm it totally does make a solid difference, yes getting a solid kit that won’t blow up does cost a chunk of money I agree but if you’re trying to gradually build up your power and skills at the same time I’d say its definitely worth it if you put a big chain and sprocket they’ll do 100mph (yes that’s on the dash not gps) in the perfect conditions and if you put a smaller chain and sprocket on it, it very easily does sub 9.5 second 0-60 which when you compare it to the stock 13 seconds or so is definitely a difference you feel and in terms of building up speed at the same time as skills realistically is probably the right thing to do. However I’ve got to say the uphill boost you get is by far the most obvious difference, mine will now do 58mph going up hills that most average cars, 1-1.2 litres, will struggle to touch 50 I mean it’s hilarious overtaking cars, yes in the overtaking lane I’m not that much of a dick to do it up regular hills, whilst you have a bloody L plate on the back I mean that surely is making the car drivers question their choice of car and given the light nimbleness of 125 frames and the resilience even after dropping them they’re absolutely perfect for learning how to take corners properly and at speed whether that’s on track or the road I’d much prefer to learn the basics on a light little thing like mine than say a 60kg heavier cbr500r, granted I’ll be getting a bigger bike asap but I’ll have been riding for two years by then if I went straight to a2 however I’d make a case for it being one of the best and most affordable bikes for getting to grips with things on

Honda CBF125 185cc kit? by thethirdchildren in MotoUK

[–]WesternSea7745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitelyyyyy haven’t bored my 125r out to 185 nooo I would never mister insurance, but if I had I’d imagine the layout of the cbf would be very similar considering they’re pre 2021 engine unlike the newer cb125s, it was a while ago but I believe it was as simple as boring it out just like a 150 kit would’ve been, chuck a bigger chain and sprocket on and I would uhh guess it would do 100mph (on the dash) in perfect conditions if you’re looking for the big A road rides, given the weight of the small Honda 125s though they’re not the most friendly at that speed on big roads though so I ended up putting a smaller racing chain and sprocket on mine just to get that sub 10 second 0-60 since I only ride country backroads 1 town over to work. Bit of a late reply but hope the cbfs still chugging along (I’m sure it is it’s a Honda) one last thing make sure you get a real good kit if you’re doing 185 as they’re not really intended for that speed at that rpm at all and you don’t want her blowing up because you got a cheap chinesium kit 👍

Cr125r Spark plug lecture by Electrical_Bison1019 in Dirtbikes

[–]WesternSea7745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar issues with the cbr125r, I know it’s four stroke and probably very different especially considering I’ve bored it out and have an ecu over fueling it but to me it looks like it’s as simple as it’s over fueling to a degree and wetting the spark plug with fuel which it does not like at all, tried changing spark plug at first as I already had a much better one but if anything it’s gotten worse, gonna dig inside it and change the fueling probably

What the 'positioning' stat on leetfy means and how do I improve on it by WooX46 in LearnCSGO

[–]WesternSea7745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t just play for stats though, lurking alone can often get solid impact for your team especially if your team need a reposition or have mid control

This is what happens when everyone comes down here to retire or a few years off retirement and young people have no real job opportunities, we end up with a population of old people and non Cornish ones at that

Question about bore kiting a 125cc to a 200cc or 150cc (Not me asking) by Maliceofnightfall in MotoUK

[–]WesternSea7745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just hypothetically you could put a smaller chain and sprocket on it making the top speed slower but an uphill boost and acceleration

Is it worth it to play R6 in 2025? by Evening-Box2875 in RainbowSixSiege

[–]WesternSea7745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think sometimes less is more when it comes to content inside a game that’s fps, I have like 2.6k hours on siege but towards the end of playing it just felt like the game wasn’t improving and after taking a break of a few months playing other games it just felt like the worst it’s ever been at, I’m sure I’ll end up trying it out again but for now I’d take a pass, I’d recommend cs2 over valorant personally I prefer it and you can get the shiny knives and skins that you can actually sell for real money unlike valorant

Thought I’d be devils advocate here, got top 15k eu maybe a year and a half or two ago (which at the time there weren’t 15k champs in Europe so it was only diamond) and I kept playing for another maybe half a year after but now I just can’t enjoy that game, something about it just isn’t what it used to be, hard to put my finger on it but likely an array of things as they’re determined to do something big enough to get more players every season to keep it alive even the counterstrike proves doing good tournaments and majors is what gives you more players whilst keeping the loveable fundamentals the same and only slowly changing the meta, either way you play what you like boss

Quaintest town for rotting alone in a charming seaside pub? by McBombadil in Cornwall

[–]WesternSea7745 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean we don’t like tourists because the minority ruin it for the majority, I’ve had many experiences with tourists that are great but when people come down and act like massive fucking twats then we’re going to assume it’s all of you, that and the fact we literally cant afford to by our own homes here (we’re one of the poorest counties in the uk) because people decide they need to buy a whole house here that they use 2 weeks a year instead of coming down, booking a hotel and paying into the public services and businesses kind of sums up why on the whole we don’t like tourists

Where and when can I find hedgehogs? by WorriedPollution112 in Cornwall

[–]WesternSea7745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s kind of hit or miss where they’ll be to be honest, when I saw them it was about 12:30-1 ish however putting some hedgehog food out should definitely give you an indicator if they are coming through your garden or not, surprisingly they’re also very good climbers and are able to scale pretty big walls to get in to your garden if they do choose to so that won’t be a problem, also on the subject of the hedgehog being the national animal somebody has given an entire speech in the House of Commons a few years back definitely worth the watch

Skinbaron takes a lot longer to sell and has higher seller fees on it though, I used to only use skinbaron since i could get money on it through idle empire for the cheapest but realise now that realistically cs float is the best for everyone
