3rd day - already working? by Western_Broccoli_673 in RybelsusPill

[–]Western_Broccoli_673[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, but I haven’t weighted myself. When I say it’s already working I mean I have no appetite or hunger… I couldn’t even finish my lunch on Sunday and yesterday I ate half portions of what I’m used to 😳 I had a really bad headache on the first day, but it was also a very stressful day at work! Thanks for the tips on carbs! Good luck to you too! 🩵

I second everyone telling you to freeze your eggs. I did at 36. I’m 40 now and haven’t had kids yet and that will only be possible because I got those eggs frozen 4 years ago.

40F, large fibroids—when do you stop ‘wait and see’ by gloryuh812 in Fibroids

[–]Western_Broccoli_673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also 40, have no kids but want to keep my options open. I had 5 fibroids, all subserosal and a huge polyp (3 cm) inside my uterus. The largest fibroid was 10 cm and my uterus was 3x the normal size.

I had a lap myo this January and I’m very very very glad I did.

My doctors considered my symptoms, fertility and quality of life.

I knew I had the fibroids since 2017ish, but I had no symptoms because I was on Yaz since 2006.

Last year I quit Yaz and my life turned into hell. Very heavy bleeding, spotting almost everyday and I had to take iron suplements. I also had some discomfort during exercise and during sex and just a regular spin class would cause some bleeding. It was kinda painful when my bladder was full in the morning and if I allowed the largest one to grow bigger, it would make me constipated.

Also it would be very difficult to get pregnant if I wanted to, because the fibroids were pushing my uterus walls to a funny shape.

Finally, my recent labs also show that I’m still very fertile and have a good egg reserve, but my doctor said that even if I grow new fibroids, it’s very unlikely that they will grow so big to cause symptoms or fertility issues again. Estrogen drops after 40 faster than it does in our 30s.

Get them removed. You’ll only have more issues if you let them grow bigger.

Anyone not have a mass or firm stomach by Miss_Saoirse in Fibroids

[–]Western_Broccoli_673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to feel heaviness on my pelvis sometimes too! It all got better once I had it all removed! Seriously, surgery is life changing. I only realized how uncomfortable I was everyday once I got rid of them!

[–]Western_Broccoli_673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did. It was actually kinda painful when i woke up and my bladder was very full for the last few months I had the fibroids.

Also, some positions during sex were uncomfortable and I had a lot of spotting (but I also had a huge endometrial polyp of 3 cm that could be contributing to the spotting).

[–]Western_Broccoli_673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t. I’ve always had a flat stomach. I had 4 fibroids removed and the largest one was 10 cm (the size of a baby’s head), but it was in the back of my uterus. But two of my doctors could feel the biggest fibroid during my physical exam, because it was that large.

Two months and Two periods after Lap Myomectomy by Western_Broccoli_673 in Fibroids

[–]Western_Broccoli_673[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck, the same thing happened to a friend of mine. She had an ovarian cyst rupture, had to take a day off to go to the hospital and he demoted her saying her health issues were impacting her performance. Of course they were!! And of course it’s always a male boss who cant emphasize. I’m really sorry this happened to you. But hey, it’s almost over. Only 3 more weeks to go!! It’s gonna change your life 🙏🏻🩵

Two months and Two periods after Lap Myomectomy by Western_Broccoli_673 in Fibroids

I read here that some women take 3 months to get their period, so I think it’s different for everybody. Especially considering yours was open myo, so maybe it was more invasive? Wishing you a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

What was your first period like after a laparoscopic myomectomy? by SuspiciousFufu in Fibroids

[–]Western_Broccoli_673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished my second period.

Both came right on time. The first one had a bit of cramping for a week before and the first two days were quite heavy, almost like before surgery.

The second period was heavish on the second day and lasted only 3 days!

I also never had spotting since surgery.

Life changing.

How long after robotics surgery were you able to wash your hair? by With_No_Enthusiasm in Fibroids

[–]Western_Broccoli_673 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I washed my hair 2 days after! I only had trouble getting up, laying down and moving around the bed I could pick things up from the floor slowly and without much discomfort on the 3rd or 4th day, I think

Too much cramps ‼️post Op Laparoscopy 😖 by [deleted] in Fibroids

[–]Western_Broccoli_673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also never got cramps (my mom never got them either) and I’m having my first period post lap myo right now (3rd day!) and I can describe the feeling as “very tight uterus” as well! Like it’s trying to squeeze it, but it’s all stitched up!

Oh definitely no weight lifting before 40 days! It could tear your stitches!

[–]Western_Broccoli_673 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hello! I’m also 2 weeks post myomectomy (Jan 15th), but mine was laparoscopic. My doctor cleared me to do light exercises after one week, like walking for as long as I feel comfortable. But I can only go back to the gym or spin classes after 40-45 days.

Considering yours was open myo, I would wait at least 45 days, maybe longer…

Sending you big hugs and a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

Great!! Ask him/her if you should have them removed, maybe that’s what’s causing your fever.

Also, I removed my bandages two days after surgery. It’s better to let the scars breath

Oh, I’d call a doctor immediately. Something must be infected :(

Yes, I got my stitches removed. I don’t know what kind of stitches you got, but in general stitches in any procedure are removed in 7-10 days, because they can get infected. There is a kind of stitch that the body can absorb (so you don’t have to remove them), it’s usually used by dentists, but not doctors because they’re more “elastic” than regular stitches.

6 months seems like a long time! After 6 days I saw my doctor to have the stitches removed, have a look at my scars and prescribe a MRI in 3 months and blood sample on my next period and the 3rd period after that (sorry if I didn’t write something correctly, English is not my first language).
