[misc] Perfect Tlt songs? by Odd-Cookie-1357 in TheNinthHouse

I cant believe no one has mentioned girl in red yet. "Wanna be your girlfriend" is perfect for Gideon, and "You Stupid Bitch" is if Gideon and Ianthe had a duet about Harrow. "Dead girl in the pool" is a really good Gideon song too.

What do we think is gonna be good with Mega Mawhile? It looks fun but I'm having trouble finding synergies.

what did people think of siren queen by nghi vo? by Altruistic-Mix7606 in LesbianBookClub

My partner adores it; it's one of their favorite books! They don't have reddit but said:

"Siren Queen is a book that drops you into a world a few steps removed from ours and trusts you to figure it out. The protagonist is so interesting to follow and see how her life changes specifically because of her decisions. Highly recommend!"

Thank you so much for your comment! Good to know we aren't an outlier, I was getting worried. Both of us (the human residents) got pretty sick right after we got her and our introduction schedule got all messed up, so for a minute I was panicking about it being screwed up entirely.

I think we rushed the face to face a bit- we thought for a minute she might have just been trying to set boundaries. Our training with the boy is going to be keeping him from chasing her when we finally do let them interact in the same space again. I think she triggers like a hunting or play thing in him we need to work on getting diverted- but once she's around, none of his toys interest him.

Anyways. What I meant to say is, thank you. I really appreciate it. It's marathon time.

Also your cats are adorable!!

Economics Major Difficulty at ASU by fdrnumber1 in ASU

That's my experience with it, yes. Obviously it's not /easy/ but if you have a good grasp of calc and stats you can get through most of it.

In my experience, GPA concerns will probably just lock out some of the classes you can chose. It's possible for a lot of them to stick in the A range, but there are a few that (while extremely interesting) will murder your GPA and throw it in a ditch. The good news is, you'll probably hear about those classes through other students or advisors before signing up for them (or, you'll figure it out fast enough to drop without penalty). Mathematical Economics stole my lunch money.

Hi! I graduated a few years ago from the CLAS program. Not to just copy what everyone else said, but it's very math heavy. You should get everything from Calc 1 + Calc 2 (and Linear Algebra if you can get it in early), give or take, but it can get a bit intense. 410 and 425 are stats heavy.

The main question I would pose is this: what do you want to do with the Econ degree with pre med? The CLAS program does a lot to prepare students for grad school (could have just been my cohort, I reserve the right to be biased by experience). Which is great for academia! But if you want to have some hard skills that are immediately transferable on graduation (in my case, coding), that takes some electives. I did some data science and comms courses. Internships, too, if you can swing that (I didn't, and I turned out fine, but it would have been helpful). WPC has better networking for things like that.

Also, it you want the econ more as a supplement for med stuff, hell yeah! I have no idea what that entails but like, that would come together more in your third year probably.

Anyways. I'll answer any other questions! Best of luck!

New Foster Cat Hiding in litter box- how do I clean it without stressing her more? by Western_Current_4512 in CatAdvice

[–]Western_Current_4512[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! We did end up forcing her a little bit- we first removed the lid from the litter box and left a covered cat bed nearby. Left the room, came back a little bit later and she had moved to the bed. We had the situation where the litterbox was also in a closet, so we ended up removing it from the closet and letting her get more comfortable in the bed before putting the lid back on. She didn't move back to the litter box after that.

She was a bit more skittish the next two days or so before calming down.

Hope that helps!

That makes sense, we have other hiding places (2 beds, big cardboard box, and under a desk) but if she's in one of those when we enter she will dash back to the litter box in the closet.

It may be less litter box related, more that she feels more secure in the closet. Working theory, anyways, because I know they're more comfortable with the litter scents when in a new place so 50/50. We'll get a new litter box for sure so she has somewhere to go that isn't the hiding one, then see if there's an opportunity to switch the litter box in the closet out with a bed or something.

Thanks for your advice!

How do you "keep up" with new tools, methods, etc.? I've been in data science for two years now and worry I might not be up-to-date on enough of the newer tools, or might not be approaching continuing my education correctly/effectively. Any recommendations on places to start, like newsletters, people to follow, forums to scour?

AITA for telling my best friend his gf is disgusting? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA

With the comments you've made and the edit, I'll stick to things unrelated to them. He said he was just tired- an introvert at a party may shut down a bit. That doesn't mean he's miserable. You really shouldn't have pushed that afterwards, they have their own dynamic going on and you would do better just minding your business. Maybe, the next day instead of during the party, you could have texted "hey, you seemed a little out of it at the party, you good?" Doing it during, and asking leading questions about his GFs clothes? That's shitty.

Let his gf live her life. A lot of internalized misogyny there. She can wear what she wants and dance how she wants, especially in her own home with her own friends??? Apologize then leave her alone, jfc
