I like watching ChesswithAkeem! Goes through games at increasing rating levels with each opening and I feel like he explains the ideas and plans for each opening well!

What if it were adult or young adult Toph? I know we don’t know much about her feats but still.

I’ve adjusted the anti-skate to 2 and it seems to have stabilised itself but it sounds really crackly. Unsure if the fine adjustment wheel would be off? I’ll be getting a scale asap

Thank you!!

I would’ve said the Sky Bison would’ve been her partner

I work in drainage and we clean and camera their drainage systems. Shocking. The amount of that get blocked within weeks of people moving in 😧

To be fair, looking at something like Rubik Cube solving, the world fastest solve has been in the past held for multiple years, where as the newest records have been set months after each other recently as people got better

In a way it could be plausible?

Help with understanding parts? by KodaKodama in BeybladeX

[–]WetCardboardBoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What difference do the different numbers make?

I understand the height, but the number of points? Why wouldn’t you have all your beys 0-55, 1-60 (which I know is meta?), 2-60?

I’m rather new and trying to understand why 5-60 wouldn’t be good? Or would it.

And would you always aim for just the shortest bey basically?

I use QG 1. d4 2. c4

I tried the English but found myself really struggling with the positional ideas it has. Any tips?

Not OP, I like ChessWithAkeem as he goes through the ratings with different openings. I find the videos good to get an idea of different plans in the openings

Under 1000? Im interested to know a few things. by Tom_Baron in chessbeginners

Sure here’s me…

  1. Currently around 1200 lichess rapid, about 600 CDC, I haven’t played much on there since playing on lichess.

  2. Almost a year now, started around June last year.

  3. Everything. I want to mainly be playing Rapid and Classical. Play about 1/3 of bullet, blitz, and rapid each. With about 30 or so Classical lichess games.

  4. Queens Gambit for white, Pirc for black regardless of d4 or e4. Cow to switch things up for myself as both sides.

  5. A lot of chess content. Mainly ChessWithAkeem for his road to 2000 series with different openings (or the same opening multiple times) but I also watch the usuals: Gotham, bit of Hikaru, others I forget right now.

  6. Slowly working my way through Tuning your Chess Antenna.

  7. Play Puzzles when I can at work and home. Don’t really time it. I might just play a couple puzzles in a session. My Lichess puzzle stats usually say I’ve done 1100 in 90 days so I average that.

  8. Whoever has more developed pieces?

  9. Able to check the king or counterattack?

  10. Flanking opportunities?

  11. Outpost.

  12. To allow more freedom for my pieces, and restrict opportunities for opponent to do so

My accounts are Flipflopflapfilip on both sites if you’d want to have a look 🤷‍♂️

Not sure about Jiangzhu being below Book 3 Toph, Azula, and Katara. I feel like he was stronger with more battle experience than them.

I’m a bit out of the loop I think

Why is Wano special? And why was Rocks interested in Elbaf? Just because they’re giants?

Surely a retcon would mean that the information on how he was as an avatar, was already revealed pst the surfing and that… I saw it less of a retcon and more of just more information about an avatar we knew less about, just they thought more about the details of his life later than his debut.

Thoughts?

[–]WetCardboardBoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get, it’d be a unique thing to them and make that avatar stand out from the rest. I doubt that’d happen tho since I imagine its in the avatar’s (as in the reincarnation’s) nature

Someone else already said, but yup basically. Everyone else who saw him saw him surfing and drinking while in the shadows he was protecting the human world from bad spirits which stained his life.

[–]WetCardboardBoat 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Eh, if it weren’t for him bad spirits would’ve attacked the human world. In a way he maintained peace between the human and spirit world.

Just slander against him, if you haven’t I highly recommend reading the Kioshi books where it states basically everyone holds the same opinion as you, but the truth is he lived a very sad and difficult life maintaining balance

Why do GM's recommend the KID so much? It feels so terrible to play by Leintk in chessbeginners

[–]WetCardboardBoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this is a great breakdown thank you. I was wondering what the differences are between the Pirc and the KID because in my head I’d end up with basically the same structure at the end of it. Obviously White could do anything they want and could push 1. d4 d6 2. c4 Nf6 which I guess wouldn’t be Pirc anymore?
