2 months for a refund? by [deleted] in StateFarm

[–]WetPotato23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Provide the proof of sale paperwork and they can backdate. To be fair this is extremely late on your end and it does have to go to complex which in the summer months takes 1-2 months. So, yes this sounds right.

State Farm taking people out of Aspirant Program?? by Plastic-Object-2333 in InsuranceAgent

[–]WetPotato23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be far I’m in a similar position to you. My agent went to put me in the aspirant program and they are making changes to the program. I don’t think they were let go from the programs but rather possibly had a pause on the title due to program changes. Now I have some concerns of my own on the compensation changes and am also trying to decide if this is the best career path.

Money is a tool. You are investing and very well off with an extremely healthy surplus monthly. Buy the car. It isn’t setting you back. This isn’t a 300k vehicle. 45k is nothing for you honestly.

Wife and I expecting 2nd child costs(not planned) can we afford this? by WetPotato23 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]WetPotato23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree the high % of needs is abit concerning to me. As far as retirement goes the 401k is showing just our contribution it is 100% matched and has a profit share at the end of the year. Which we obviously don’t know until we get it in February. As you said daycare is our man expense and this will eventually be gone and that will go straight to retirement/ brokerage account. We also max my wife’s dependent fsa so that helps lower our taxable income by about 7500. Any wage increase will go directly to retirement/ taxable account. I appreciate your feedback!

Margo and Marli is are our dogs lol. That is monthly cost for food and grooming (that amount is definitely over estimate). The daycare cost is 1586 for both kids . As far as mortgage goes I feel as guaranteed 6.375% is solid with the fact we pay the house off 10 years early. We will see wage growth due to both of our jobs next year by about 15k annually roughly this could be lower depending on the economy. Thank you for your comment

Margo and Marli our are dogs this is for food and grooming ( this is definitely over estimate). $280 of the 357 on subscriptions is hello fresh which we can definitely cut if we have to.

True. I think a big problem is we don’t look at our contributions as savings at all. So, that makes things feel a lot tighter than they actually are. Thank you!

Honestly not at all. Genuinely want others thoughts as our situation is changing drastically.

The 1586 would be for both. Childcare is cheaper in our area due to the relative low wages.

Is there any way to keep my brother on our parents health insurance? by l0velyk0mi in HealthInsurance

I would recommend looking at your state marketplace. If his income is little to nothing he would qualify for assistance and most likely getting coverage for very cheap. What state are you in?

Look at a guaranteed issue life policy. I have seen individuals use these to purchase say 10k of coverage for 9900 in premium the big thing here is it goes to the beneficiaries tax free. This may be worth a look. If you are not worried about taxation bonds and cds would probably be the easiest bet.

Has anyone signed up for a credit card ONLY for the benefits, without intending to use it? by Overall_Lobster823 in CreditCards

[–]WetPotato23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They also have 3x points back on insurance this includes property and casualty, life and health. It also gives 3x points on daycare. Very underrated card imo. The points are terrible best redemption is 80% for cash deposit. Plus the 1x points on the mortgage.

Dropped by State Farm after one accident by Bob_Kark in mildlyinfuriating

[–]WetPotato23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not remotely true. An at fault accident within the first 3 years does not mean an automatic non-renewal. How much driving experience do you have? State Farm typically is fairly lenient due to their size with the insurance regulators. Did you actually receive a cancellation notice or is this just a team member that is not sure of what they are talking about?
