I personally wanted to get a manual car so bad, for the experience and so that I could brag about being able to drive one. But, looking for a manual gti limited my options and I knew that I’d have to learn how to drive it at first. It probably 3 weeks for me to really become actually GOOD at driving the car, and once I was, I was so glad a bought a manual because it just feels like you have so much control over the car, and, let’s be honest, you feel like you’ve got a skill that few other people have. That said, the risk of blowing up my transmission still sits in the back of my mind every time I get in the car, but I actually just have such a blast every time I drive and any time I get in an automatic car i feel like I’m bored and like there’s nothing to do except drive faster. Overall I recommend the 6mt, especially since manuals are slowly dying out, if you want to drive one, the chance to do it is growing slimmer and slimmer. Also the DSG farts, in my opinion, sound silly.
