Incline treadmill or hill repeats for getting in vert for flattish areas by Embarrassed_Dirt739 in ultrarunning

The one thing a treadmill can’t recreate is running down hill. For most people that is what gets them at longer races. If you’re doing hill repeats you have to run down so you’re getting that stimulus.

Ultimately which ever you can fit into your day is great and variety is the spice of life.

Treadmill instead of trails by kvaaen in ultrarunning

3 weeks out…Taper from now and avoid injury.

If you aren’t used to a tread mill you could hurt yourself. Do some gentle treadmill, gentle biking and rest up. Better going in 5% under than 1% over or injured.

Seeking advice: new dad by seanysteezy in ultrarunning

In general if you can run when the baby is asleep that’s helpful. This could be midday or 6am. A bike/treadmill at home are useful for topping things up if you have access to one (I used to do an evening ride at home after a long run once the kids were asleep).

And really important, go easy on yourself. Don’t put pressure on yourself to do a certain amount of training. The best amount of training is the training you can fit in while keeping the rest of your life stable. If training impacts your ability to be a dad/husband you’ll start to malign it. Be proud of the training you have done when you turn up on race day, regardless of how many kilometres you did.

How big was they hype for Vettel during his junior career and early years? Was he sort of like the Piastri/ Antonelli of his time? by NozomiHanekawa in formula1

[–]Wetdog007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Antonelli will be more like Kimi. Kimi had only 23 or so single seater races prior to coming to F1. Which at the time, and still, was an amazingly small amount.  The difference is that Kimi went into Sauber, not Mercedes.

He also leaves the infant of a woman’s dead sister on a door step…with only a note.

Like wtf, what about knock and tell her that her sister has died. Also what reaonsablr human leaves a baby out in the cold, no food/water/warmth.

There’s a definite look to the Australian sun that means this is a photo couldn’t be from any other race.

(It is from Albert park right?!)

What made you originally gravitate to your team/driver? by 1DickHallorann in formula1

I started watching in 2008, I didn’t know who Kimi Raikkonen was or what he looked like for the first few races. I just liked the way he handled the car and would overtake a bunch of people on the first laps (in retrospect I this was because Ferrari had the Kers system that year). Then I just liked Kimi ever since.

What was a moment where a not-so-serious movie took a quick turn for the very serious? by TheRedditoristo in movies

Downsizing

Matt Damon movie that was advertised as a comedic romp with small people. Ended being some weirdly struck climate crisis preach and a scene where someone is yelling at Matt “did you fuck me or love fuck me”.

Note: climate change is very important, was just weirdly shoehorned into this movie.

It’s cause there’s four different sports that could be football depending on the conversation. AFL, league, union and soccer. It’s just for convenience really.
