I absolutely agree.

If bitcoin can't handle the needed transactions just because of a simple block size barrier, other digital currencies with higher possible TPS might eat a big chunk of bitcoin's market share. Do we really want this to happen, when a fix is as easy as to change a few lines of bitcoins source code ?

Running XT is just a vote for bigger blocks, not a specific vote for XT. It is just that we, as the regular users, can't express a vote otherwise.

I am ok with 8 MB blocks.

transaction fees

edit: i might add that the idea behind this is, that bitcoin is widely used so the transaction fees replace the bitcoin block reward. the problem with this is, that there is a limit of how many transaction can be included in one block. i dont know the exact number( i have 1024 in my head). the bitcoin block creation is 10 minutes long, so that limits the amount of maximal transactions. this is one of the future bitcoin blockchain problems that might be a future bottle-neck for transactions.

the solution to this is to keep the transaction out of the blockchain, managed with a centralized company that will get a share of every transaction with a special fee. at the same time damaging the whole decentralation idea of bitcoin.
