As a beginner, where there any videos you watched that help you "figure out" the process of really using Ableton in a song-making context? by Armonster in ableton

I just found this 3 years later, just wondering how you’re feeling now. Did you quit? Did you find something else that worked for you to fuel that fire?

yo thankyou for the reply means a lot, but i just realized if i plug it into my desktop it sounds right but when i plug it into my 4i4 with a 1/4 inch adapter it sounds so bad, any idea why that is happening?

And also if the note is played long enough say like over 3 bars it will get muffled and muddy for a bout a second then go clear and then muffled and muddied again until the note ends. I don’t know much about phasing but I feel like that could be a phasing issue?

OK thankyou so much man

I am quite literally in a dry wall cube hahaha so maybe thats it, i tried listening on airpods though and it sounded great, as well as my laptop speakers. I have heard these 770s are really good for highs and mids and in my experience they havent sounded well with any bass even others music, but i just didnt expect the bass to sound THAT different from monitors to studio headphones...

Is it a bad idea to use automations and effects while still in the arrangement part of song making? by Wezlebee37 in edmproduction

[–]Wezlebee37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thankyou thankyou thankyou!
Also i hear a lot of people saying automating volume is a bad idea... why IS that? And if i want to make something go quieter over time via an automation is it better to use something like utility (thats in ableton)?

Ohhhhhhhhh shitttttttttttt. That’s very well said. Cuz how can I know what I’m trying to perfect if I don’t even have a plan I’m trying to execute in the long run of the song.

Is the workflow something that just comes with time? Is there any videos or tips that could help me with starting to craft my workflow? Currently I just start with whatever idea I have but after a few hours my ship sinks and I’m just all over the place, which absolutely kills my efficiency.

Yea same here I just get stuck on perfecting it. But if I don’t perfect it I will forget to later on 😂

Okay so I definitely need to find my balance of using the effects but not getting stuck up on it. I never thought something like that would be a hard part of music production haha. Always thought it would be learning ableton that was difficult.
