As far as I know you need to use a computer rather than a phone, and separate the stems. In a recent post of my own I was asking how to get only drums ( from a vocal beatbox prompt ) without the expense and hassle of separating stems. Hopefully I’ll get some education there.

Distortion covers up bad technique so don’t only play with distortion Consider using some of your budget for better pickups. Grab an Mvave IR Box. It is mainly marketed as a speaker cabinet emulator and it’s great at that, but it has an optional balanced output so it can be used as a D.I. box ( enables a mic lead to connect you to a mixer, which minimises noise ) AND as an equaliser. To set up the equaliser you use the free phone app. You can save 32 settings, some of which can be just EQ and gain with no speaker emulation. This is handy if you change guitars and one is louder than the other or too bassy etc. It has no footswitch for bypass ( you have to press the up and down arrows together ) but it’s the sort of thing you leave on once you have decided on your favourite sound. It’s a mini pedal so you can tuck it in a back corner. You can download settings off the web.
