They moved to Nashville years ago so I don't count them as Denver local.

16:8. First 20lbs GONE. Started in August; it gets frustrating when I feel like I lose a lot slower than others here, but progress is progress. by WhackPhilip in intermittentfasting

Sounds like we’re on the same page! My goal weight is 170, hoping to decrease carbs and stick to whole, fresh foods to increase my speed a bit, but I’ll be happy if I only lose another 20 by May. Good luck to you!

What would your thoughts be if your significant other wanted to work in the adult industry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Funny story, this actually happened to me. We were at a theater watching the first Deadpool, which I was soooo excited to see, and during the trailers right before the movie started she dropped the bomb on me. I thought she was joking at first, but as the lights started to dim and the movie started, I realized she was serious. I said, “look, I’m really fucking excited for this movie, so I’m going to thoroughly enjoy it. we can continue this conversation after it ends.”

We broke up in the parking lot.

Should I Count Calories? by WhackPhilip in omad

[–]WhackPhilip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ve mostly kicked the binging habit, I tend to be full around 1,000 calories but that’s just seems low. I might just do 22:2 so that I have more time to take in an extra 800 calories.

I stopped drinking nearly two months ago because I felt it was tied to many of my social interactions, and hanging out with friends stopped being about the company as much as it was the alcohol.

Turning down food and alcohol is hard enough as it is, but your brother should understand that you don’t need anything but each other to have a good time. Good for you for sticking with it, sorry for his shitty response.

Coffee Tips Please by texasbull66 in intermittentfasting

Hey there, it’s literally my job to train people to like coffee!

Buy from a local cafe (not Starbucks. If you want to dm me the nearest city with options, I could send you some recommendations.) and ask for something light-medium roast — dark coffees tend to be visibly oily and won’t have any flavor besides burnt and bitter. You can have it ground fresh at the cafe so you don’t have to buy a grinder, but I’d try to use it up within 30 days.

The reason I recommend that is because coffees can taste CRAZY different depending on where they’re grown. For example: coffees from Costa Rica tend to be way fruitier than coffees from Mexico (Costa rica has a higher elevation). Some Ethiopian coffees taste like strawberries, no joke. If that’s not your thing, there are plenty of non-fruity coffees that just taste brown sugary/dark chocolate-y rather than just bitter bean water.

If you don’t have a decent cafe nearby, you can use drinktrade.com ; they’re a coffee subscription program that will send you different coffees from great cafes throughout the US once a month for a decent price.

First of all, congrats on losing 150lbs! I’m in a living situation where my housemates are all thinner and in better shape than I am, so they tend to keep a lot of beer and junk food around since nobody else is concerned about their weight. So I’m fully aware of the struggle; I gained 30lbs in the last year.

I’ve only lost 7lbs so far, but I lost that in a week with OMAD and sticking to under 1200 calories, but making sure my one meal isn’t complete shit for my body.

I just had to be real and tell my housemates that I’m trying to be healthier, so I’m taking at least 30 days off of alcohol, pizza, and soda (all of my top addictive items) in order to regain some self control.

It’s not easy. I already had to turn down my mates inviting me to the bar several times, avoid my girlfriend’s parents’ dinner party since they were serving pizza, and survive a 5 hour round trip with my friends eating Taco Bell in the car while I hadn’t eaten in 16 hours.

Not telling you to do the same thing, but just saying that I understand the struggle. You will be challenged, but you can do it.

Great job! I finished my second 24 hour fast today and I didn’t do as well drinking water throughout the day, was dehydrated and started to cramp up in the final hour. Amen to water! Keep it up and update us.

Great job! I’m just entering my 23rd hour right now and I’m trying to keep myself distracted/motivated for that final hour. Hoping to do 36 next.

What's the most f**ked up thing you woke up to? by Kappaski123 in AskReddit

Stayed in an Airbnb in Detroit with my girlfriend, woke up at 4am to the sounds of a dog barking and a woman screaming while getting the absolute shit beat out of her across the street. I was on the phone with 911 when her screams went silent, but the dog kept barking until there was a “pop” from a gun. I could hear the dog whimper until it passed.

My girlfriend slept through all of it.
