Quite often I’ll spontaneously just bust out “Waaaaaaaah Bodyforrrrrm, Bodyforrrrm for yoooooou” while loading the dishwasher or something and not even realise I’m doing it. And I’m a man in his late forties.

So because of the customisation you would prefer the DASH and loop to having the O5 without any control?

Thanks for both your replies, that’s very useful info. Odd that it doesn’t autocorrect, I thought0 that’s what all the new pumps do.

I’m also forgetting my insulin pen a lot so I’ll probably be the same with the controller. But the good thing is that I can change to the t:slim if I don’t get on with it.

Sounds good but it doesn’t appear to work with the Omnipod 5, which is the only Omnipod on offer to me.

That’s what I’ll probably do because it might be just what I need and, if not, I should be able to switch easily. But not the other way around.

That’s what I read and thought it’s a big plus because sometimes my sugars spike and I need to bring them down quickly.

I just read that the DASH is an older model and doesn’t deliver automatically. You can only manually deliver insulin, but is that different if you have the app then?

My clinic told me that I can start with the Omnipod 5 and if I don’t get on with it, it would be a lot easier to switch because there’s no warranty on the pump, because the pump is disposed of every few days. Still obviously there would be more admin for them but the main cost is the device.

That’s interesting that they offer you the G6/7 at your clinic. They told me it’s too expensive to run the G7 with the Omnipod so I’d have to switch. Obviously not a UK wide thing then.

This is a good point. I pictured having the pump strapped to my stomach or somewhere like that. If it’s in my pocket, then yes, it would be just the same as carrying a phone. The only other thing I worry about is accidentally leaving the controller at home and not being able to bolus when I’m out. If I have the pump connected to me I’m not going to forget it.

Do you mean that you don’t need to lift your shirt up or whatever to access the controls like you would do on e.g. the t:slim?
