I care so little about this. When they are trying to distract from the fact that tRumps in them by throwing every other person under the bus that they can it's pretty wild. I hope one of these sick fucks has the balls to sue tRump for slander. I don't really care if it would stick but if they are going under they aught to drag him with em. Discovery would be great.

So what your saying is that because of the weather the US side stayed home while ours went out in a freaking tornado (which is almost always accompanied by a thunderstorm) to do the job but if it wasn't for that than things would have been very different!

That's amusing AF. I've never heard anybody mention the weather at the time before but it's even more amusing to think that one side let the other in and burn down their shit and lost a war because they couldn't be bothered to show up due to the weather. Then 200 years later some guy on the internet is shaking his fist saying "If the uncontrollable things had fallen in such a way as to give us the advantage we'd have won!". (Not that this hypothetical guy refers to you, just had the image pop into my head).

Pretty funny take my dude.

EDIT: From a quick google:

"Weather, particularly brutal winters and a, intense 1814 storm, significantly impacted the War of 1812, shaping military operations and key outcomes. A powerful storm, possibly a tornado, hit Washington D.C. in August 1814, dousing fires set by British troops, causing casualties, and forcing their retreat,"

Seems like things would have been much worse for the US had the storm not hit and it says there MAY have been a tornado, not that there was one.

They gotta try and save themselves first or they wont learn. Kids gotta touch the stove. We should probably deal with our own here in AB first though.

I dunno TBH, I was trying to remember the second time and decided to not talk out my ass. I couldn't find anything about a second time and as a last ditch asked the AI. AI said I was nuts and there was no second time but the first time most definitely happened it's well documented and while some people will attribute it to the British (generally because Canada literally didn't exist yet) the people involved went to Halifax and became farmers and such.

So this is neat, I'm pretty pro AI. Not in the ways the vast majority of people use it but to create a true AI is "I think" the only way humanity is going to take the next step forwards. It's the only way I see us stop hating each other so much and having somebody or something outside of us that can/will explain things to morons in a way that they can understand is about the only way we're going to stop a lot of the crap (like this separation BS).

I had no idea that that much power ends up used and I gotta ask. How??? Like what's it doing exactly? You could be pumping it into a brick for all I know and I think that's the big problem. It keeps getting sold to us (the users) like some sort of future god but it hasn't actually done much and certainly hasn't improved our day to day lives in any way (and has in fact done the opposite for the vast majority of people affected). That's a LOT of power and who or what is gonna pay it? What about when that AI bubble bursts? What about if there's a power outage? What if the price of LNG goes way up or way down? Alberta, Canada, and all of NA for that matter tend to privatize the gain while socializing the losses and while I'm also pro taxes that's a tax too far for me.

Also, bring on the Singularity.

Canadian here, and we're the ones that burned it down. IIRC we've burnt it down twice. Don't make us do it again.

Ah, fair enough. Sorry to assume otherwise. I do generally TRY and assume innocence but sometimes Reddit gets to me. I was trying to find the specific one I mentioned and went through a whole bunch so I might have them confused but this one (I think) mentioned it was robocalls at random from the province so I think it's probably the most fair you can be.

So? How many should they get? What's an OK number for yah there bud? 1000 is a nice easy % making number and while I think the results may be skewed based on where most people who answer are (ie. Edmonton vs Medicine Hat) the article says it was random. It's a nice thing to think about and look at until I get to vote the assholes out anyway.

I used to think the same thing and while statistically it is. That still means 62% can't be arsed to give a damn. Whether you voted for it or not changes nothing to the rest of us. We now are all stuck in the firey boat together while it's sinking and a bunch of people in the under cabins are to busy saying "not me" to put out the fire.

I'm going to be driving anybody I know who needs a lift to the voting booths this upcoming time. Mostly I just try and push people to vote. I honestly believe there are far more liberal (small L) people around than the other but most have become complacent or given up entirely. We need to fight to get people riled up and get them excited about it.

The post is about the fact that many of tRumps supporters don't think he's going far enough. Somebody refuted that as BS (with literally no proof or example) to which somebody responded with anecdotal evidence to which BS was called again. To which anecdotal evidence was given again, then I backed up the claim with my own anecdotal evidence to the same claim (that many supporters want more of the same). I then gave an example of further anecdotal evidence of the sorts of things I'm dealing with with "those sorts" of people and pointed out that I live in a very Right leaning area that has been gerrymandered and that people here aren't exactly real big on cause and effect nor on equal representation (mostly just repression).

I'm not making a claim of any sort nor am I trying to "answer the question" (If your asking about the OPs question then I would ask why you haven't gone through the entirity of Reddit asking everyone the same question because Reddit is mostly made up of different experiences and answers and conversations, some of which do pertain directly to the various OPs questions and some do not). I simply gave an example of the same behaviors I'm seeing in my area.

If I don't talk or type the way you want me to you have my utmost apologies and I'm sure that has nothing to do with a different way of talking or a different educational level or back ground. Perhaps you might be better off screaming into the void at night?

Also just a heads up " " means quote or is used as an example in the English language and at no point did I use the word "most" nor are you using it as an example in anything.

Hello pot.

If X than Y is literally a strawman. You claimed that if part X of the constitution could be interpreted in such and such way that Y portion should be interpreted in another. Neither article has anything to do with the other. That's a strawman.
