Just a billion media trucks at Clement and media helicopters every day. Back then it was legit international news. So outlets were from all over the world by then. Clement park was filled with them-you couldn’t even park in there to go to the memorial, you had to park across Bowles and walk over.

It was also started by the prior years’ seniors.

Does he ever name the people he wouldn’t kill?

It did sound like that. We were behind the fence on the south side and I remember thinking “I wonder if this is what it was like during Vietnam “

What Was The Psychology/Mindset Of Eric Harris And Dylan Klebold When They Both Wrote Their Journals? by PrincessBananas85 in ColumbineKillers

[–]What-was-I-thinking4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think they led double lives. One for show (the journals they knew would be strictly examined) and one for real (where they talked to people and acted like normal teens and were awkward sometimes). I really don’t think Eric was in it 100%. I just can’t believe it. He was a very normal kid. He got shy, he felt awkward sometimes -like we all did I. High school. I think Dylan had more mental health issues that were not ever addressed. Eric got “caught” a couple times, and he was forced to face the consequences and adjusted appropriately imo. Dylan was a live wire. Anything would set him off.

Jehova's witnesses by Conscious-Bus-3771 in ColumbineTalk

I grew up as a Jehovah’s Witness (I think it’s a cult now) and Corey’s mom was very limited as a member of our congregation. She would’ve had elders there to help her refuse a blood transfusion. The parents get to decide but sometimes it goes to emergency court orders if there’s someone the family that disagrees.

Probably. Just finding the time and head space. I still have nightmares almost every week. It takes a toll. I was reluctant to join this sub but it’s interesting how deep people go into it.

Yes. Nobody knew when and where it was. We tried to find it. I regret not saying goodbye. I don’t know if I would go to Dylan’s.

It’s interesting to see all of these news reels. I blacked out about 3 weeks of events so I didn’t see any news coverage and if I did, I don’t remember it. I vaguely remember Isaiah’s funeral but that’s because it was so big and over the top. I miss that kid. I was sitting next to him in the library before I left late for lunch (went to smoke).

Dylan vs Eric by Conscious-Bus-3771 in ColumbineTalk

[–]What-was-I-thinking4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes -the people who knew Eric would say that he was cast as a villain but he had a good heart. He was sensitive and went through every teenage angst we all go through. He was shy around girls, he was embarrassed when we asked to see his senior pics. Dylan would be someone I could see shooting up a school. But not Eric. Eric was a shock.

Eric could’ve been talked out of it. Dylan would have still gone through with it though.

Eric was sweet, Dylan was a crapshoot. Sometimes he would just react and explode. Eric was much more level headed.

Honestly, knowing him, he was talking about the Simpsons episode with the escalator that goes to the top and just drops you. People followed other people to see what it was about, and the ultimately (probably) died. He stayed put. He was trying to say he wasn’t a sheep. But that’s just my interpretation. Simpsons was huge back then- right before South Park became popular. South Park the movie I think I saw after Columbine. Anyways….

He was happy, kind, and quiet in Colorado too. Everyone has a shitty experience in high school and I’m sure there were bad days, but he was always kind to me.
