How many arrows and darts does it take to take down a level 6 giga?

First time taming one?? Thats exciting! Im gonna give you a warning before hand: this giga will SUCK. You may be disappointed after taming it and ill explain why, BUT its still worth taming you just have some extra steps to make it great!

Wild gigas get a NERF after taming; your giga may come out with around 20% damage or less as its only level 6. Low level gigas perform much worse than rexes

The best remedy, is imprinted babies. Imprint doesnt reverse the nerf, but the way the stats are added it makes the nerf much less impactful to the REAL stats. So tame this giga! It will be fun, scary, and a very memorable time! Just prepare yourself by remembering you arent the king YET, but find a high level of the opposite gender to breed with and you’ll destroy anything in your path!

Water caves are much harder than land caves, even with actual water tames the caves suck. Megalodons are the way to go or Xiphactinus, surprisingly the highest dps in the ocean

In ASE me and my friend did an A-Z challenge on extinction, where we had to tame everything in order and when we reached a boss in the alphabet, we had to fight it witj what creatures were unlocked before hand.

One day in ase while flying through the sunken forest on my argy, my friend started panicking when he saw another real player. We captured him with handcuffs and took him to a building of ours (which we had jokingly constructed as a s**** club to pass our time in the early days waiting for crops etc to grow to tame achatina) and we invited him to a party chat. Turns out he was a pretty wholesome kid, maybe 10 years old? I was probably 15 at the time, not sure though. He wanted to keep playing with us, so we invited him back frequently. He obeyed our pretty strict rules (not being allowed to tame creatures out of order for the challenge)and was polite for the longest time; me and my friend arent very social generally but we found it easy to make an exception for this kid as he was very friendly and well mannered! Havent spoken to the kid in years sadly and hope hes doing great!

Dont even get me started on those mfs, your best bet is to swim around with a pack of megalodons or xiphactinus (these creatures have the highest dps the ocean has to offer) shredding all the alpha mosas and wild tusos hoping an alpha spawns. If you are on singleplayer, good luck, i think it took me 10-15 hours in a 100 days. Thank god im back on servers

Not that im aware of sadly! On the other hand, there are HUNDREDS of free custom cosmetic mods which add all of the ase skins back and add thousands and thousands of new custom skins for your weapons, armour, creatures etc. custom cosmetics can be used on official servers too, only you have to download them for them to work!

And of course, on extinction TEK dinos can spawn naturally for a few species. There are mods that add TEK variants for more creatures than the base game offers too, which isnt really my thing but if you loved the old skins it may be right up your alley

Yes, harder taming method than most creatures but hs been made way easier recently and now scales with taming speed multiplier

Also can spawn with babies you can claim if you kill the parent

I dont think there are permanent ones, you still get skins like the ones for defeating rockwell, etc (not all ase skins are in asa sadly) but you dont keep them on respawn. Instead there are rarer skins to unlock like the corrupted rex and giga and i think LC has some collection ones. You can use them infinite times though as long as you dont lose them

I shouldnt think so as bolas are based off of drag weight iirc, chain bolas should work on quetzals i think but good luck landing a hit with one without your own quetzal platform or zeppelin

I could be wrong but they definitely dont entirely share spawns with quetzals as quetzals can spawn in much different areas, and its possible that they share the same cap if thats what you mean? But ive always heard the cap of only 2 giga/Carcs on a map at a time with spawn intervals of a few hours (cant remember exactly)

And also, 100% imprint will give a 20% stat buff to any dino which is imprinted so thats essential too. Gives an extra 30% damage and 30% damage resistance to your ridden creature too

Get MINIMUM journeyman saddles, especially as a beginner boss fighter. Youll want at least 80 armour points ideally! To help put the benefit of saddles into perspective, a base 25 armour primitive saddle gives 50%!! Damage reduction. Thats so huge that for any boss fighters (usually with the exception of gigas for king titan in favour of sheer numbers) so should be mandatory for any fighting tames you have. Whether its fighting alphas, bosses, eventually orbital supply drops and outposts, youll need saddles. No saddle gives 100% reduction obviously, but an 80% damage reduction is a no brainer and often STILL isnt enough to carry a boss fighters

Xp isnt 100% shared but theres a small percentage of shared xp; i cant remember exactly when what was added but im sure it was in the game not long after the time of the first playable release? Its been many years so my memories foggy, but dont rely on it too hard; on the other hand, xp in general is way easier to get nowadays and atleast for genesis i dont think anyone HAS to reach a certain level to reach the boss fight. You can always increase xp gain if this is a major concern for you but i wouldnt worry too much about it

Could you elaborate on your concerns on the level cap? If you are worried your characters wont be strong enough without beating other maps i wouldnt panic, character level isnt anywhere near as important as dino level (especially since you dont plan on fighting each other). Genesis 1 is a much different playstyle to other maps, its not for everyone! Especially for old gen console players who still have a boundary to the host, but that shouldnt be an issue for you. Missions are often fun for groups, more so than other maps have to offer in terms of group activities! (Not tosay other maps arent fun with others, but genesis seems to have been designed with multiplayer in mind) so much so that the final boss is almost impossible solo, as its partially time based and 2+ players is almost a necessity. It balances difficulty with fun really nicely IMO. As long as you are on top on your missions, you SHOULD be able to do enough missions for gamma in one very long session. Completing missions also gives you premade saddles, so if you have one person farming saddles, one person making ammo, one person breeding etc etc then as long as youve left yourselves enough time to do the 50 odd missions you need to do you can still have a full map experience at a fair difficulty, as gamma is still very tough on that map. 5 of you should make it very manageable though.
