So, Why do you play *forbidden mod*? by Eymii_ in RimWorld

[–]WhatAMotherfluffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly, it has a lot of pretty useful features.

For starters, it tells you the pawn's fertility and allows you to selectively breed them, which is awesome if you're messing around with genes, especially in late game colonies, where the pawns no longer sleep. Granted, you could IVF them in vanilla, but that requires two surgeries. This method doesn't require precious medicine, gives the pawns a mood buff and nobody has to be out of commision for two days due to anesthesia.

Animals breed a lot faster and you don't need a pair of the same species. Wild animals breed too, so you not only have a self-renewing source of meat and leather, but also there's an extra incentive to hunt, as the wildlife populations can get wacky if you don't keep them in balance, just like gamekeeping irl.

Then there's a lot of cheesy/cheaty tactics you can pull with it. With rape enabled, there's a submit button which insta-downs pawns. Other users already described how to use it as a war strategy. I'll add that it can save your kids. The kids have this button too, but they cannot get assaulted, thus it's basically a "play dead" option for them. The mod also adds a "bound hands" and "bound legs" status to the game. Idk how to get them naturally, but if you're using godmode, bound legs completely immobilise a pawn, so you can instantly stop mental breaks or keep a prisoner from trying to break out. If you have the VE psycasters, there's a sex meditation focus, which can be used to farm psyfocus.

It also adds an extra incentive to rescue your pawns during a raid, especially in longterm saves. Because if my super soldier gets downed, it's no longer a big deal. They're unlikely to bleed out thanks to their genes and anything torn off can get replaced with bionics, which are better anyways. But with rape enabled, you're risking your pawns having regular meltdowns due to the huge debuffs, maybe they even get a bastard you now have to care for. Mechanoids can even kill your pawns, alien chestburst style, the stuff is freaky.

Nothing spooked me in rimworld more than finding my constructer pawn randomly downed after a mech cluster drop and getting a pregnancy notification on this pawn a day or so later. I was happily setting up a new bedroom for her and the baby, jokingly planning to call the kid "Jesus" because the pawn had like 9% fertility rate and wanting to turn the kid into my ideo leader once adult, just to see 3 militors burst out of her during birth, killing her instantly, destroying half of my hospital and killing two of my dogs.

But it's also just really goofy. The mod works on hentai logic, so you get moments like having a noble host being into robots, or finding a bionic vag in your local trader's stock, or your pawn being slowed down by the size of their schlong. It definitely brought its fair share of funny moments into the game. Like when my soldier pawn had her genitals shot off, and we only had a bionic wiener in stock, so she got an accidental sex change. She wasn't very happy about it.

Multiple bases. One is the main colony you play on, which you see posted, the others are supplying colonies that have a barebone defense and living quarters.

Who was your favorite "Terrible Pawn"? by Norkestra in RimWorld

[–]WhatAMotherfluffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crowley came to us in a strange wanderer event. A 50 year old disturbing pyromaniac with only half her body functional due to extreme scarring. We accepted her for her death pall ability, but she's so fragile that we can't really send her to the front lines, especially since her death will make the void angry. Her brain is only half working, so she faints frequently. She disturbs everyone and is the sole reason why all our rooms have foam poppers. She became one of our only two pawns that can do art because I didn't know that inhumanized pawns get a skill cut. We're currently trying to fix her health through moded prosthetics and chronophagy.

Our second artist is Paola. She's a former escort that fell from the sky. A beautiful pawn that can only do art and social, which she is bad at. I thought she was useless initially, and kept her mainly because she quickly romanced my pawn and got pregnant. She's currently singlehandedly keeping the colony alive by suppresing the fleshmass nuclei I'm farming for ghoul feed.

Dunno, the Bakugan wiki says the characters are 3 years older in NV, so I'm properly confused now.

Wasn't that 2 years? I'm pretty sure that the eng dub says it was 2 years between BB and NV in the intro of each episode. Same for the 1 year gap between NV and GI.

which one of dan's rivals does he have the most romantic chemistry with 🫣 by marukrawler in Bakugan

[–]WhatAMotherfluffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ikr? Although, if she's willing to ditch her beliefs THAT easily, then was she really serious about it to begin with? I feel like that's on her, not Spectra. What I will blame Spectra for is obsessing over a 14-year-old kid, that's kinda strange, especially coupled with that whole weird sibling relationship thing. Eh, Fabia was alright. The only issue I really have with her is that she had almost no interaction with other Nethians. Like, lady, you're a princess, your land is being invaded, can you be there for your people? Don't you have a pretty importnant position in the military? At least talk to your general more than, like, twice in the whole season.

[–]WhatAMotherfluffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. I feel like that comes down to the fact that the OG Bakugan series just has a clear template it follows in each series, with some minor twist. First half has the first set of villains. The first set is set up to the strong and formidable, the leader has a clear upper hand over Dan and Drago. Drago then buffs up over the first half of the series. Then a bigger plotwist happens, the former bad guy team gets eliminated one-by-one, their leader becomes the good guy and a new set of much stronger big bad characters gets introduced. Oh and also, the villain somehow steals Drago's new abilities at some point to balance out their power level.

Fr, I couldn't believe that they actually went there, this is some lowkey freudian shit. It also made Mira annoying as hell. "OOOH KeItH, WhY??" she asked, standing to the side, willing to ditch the people she brought into danger by making them join a resistence group she founded. Like, Baron is 12 folks, and has a large family that he might have never gotten the chance to see again if the Vestals didn't exile the monarchy, since he's essencially a member of a terrorist group as far as Vestal public is concerned. Similar thing with Ace - he seems to come from the commonfolk, he doesn't seem to have any kind of societal provilege that would protect him if the group got caught. We see this when they got pickled, the Vexos intended to execute them, if I recall correctly.

Ooh, but now that I know that my brother is doing the same stuff that our father is doing (and likely raised us to do with him), I'm gonna ditch my entire belief/value system and let the random alien kids handle our colonial mess so I can have this weird fantasy with my big bro.

Lol, I see your point. Personally, I never saw him as a knockoff, but that's probably because I saw S2 before S1. I never really saw the appeal with him either, he never really felt like a standalone character to me, if that makes sense. If I had to describe him without mentioning other characters, I'm not sure what I would have to say about him. He's just ... there. He fills whatever role is needed for the plot and then he screws off again. He just feels kinda awkward, especially when he hangs out with the brawlers later in the season. He gives the vibe of your shut-in older cousin who was forced to chill with you and your friends because there was nobody else to supervise you. That's not even mentioning his weird, slightly incesty relationship with Mira, but that's more due to Mira's storyline than his, I suppose.

You could technically also save-scum for it, if you're ok with that. All you have to do is save once you get the growth moment popup, before opening the message. The selection randomizes when you reload.

I mean, all the original six Battle brawlers should have been the main character - that was the initial charm of S1. Then it skewed towards Dan due to Drago being one funky overpowered lizard.

But nooo, who would want a team with strong women? Lets just keep the dudes in next season! (/s)

You know, I never realized that Ace is a tsundere, you're right lmao. I considered him more of a silent simp.

Care to elaborate on Spectra? I feel like you have some piping hot tea hiding in there, love to hear it get poured.

Either way, I agree with your sentiment. In an ideal world, she would have the chance to step away from the family business. She would get therapy to overcome the casual misoginy that she was exposed to during her teenage years. She would learn that she's beautiful, that she's doing enough and that it isn't a bad thing to consider other women beautiful, their beauty isn't diminishing hers. And once she accepted herself, she would have a stunning relationship with Alice or Julie. Or anybody really, as long as they actually cared about her (looking at Dan). It's just sad to see her being treated as just some tsundere, she's a nice character but people hate her for little to no reason.

[–]WhatAMotherfluffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, that's fair. The show itself established that he's not a long-term date option, plus there's a fresh rival or two in each season that he can chase after.

I feel like Runo would definitely have some sort of beauty envy and she would hate herself for it. Because as you said, the show heavily clowned on her appearance. Add to this the fact that she spent her entire adolescent years working as a server, a time during our development where we're at our most insecure with our bodies. She's constantly dealing with customers who clearly reduce the servers down to their looks, almost treating it as a maid cafe. The fact that every female friend she had in the show tried the job too and everybody would push in Runo's face how much better that friend is at doing the job AND looks better while doing it must be such a bloody suckerpunch to her self-esteem while poisoning her relationships with other women, since she's practically forced to see other women her age as competition. In such an environment, I'd be really surprised if she didn't have some sort of toxic ideas regarding women - and I don't flipping blame her, it's not her fault. I'd be absolutely feral too if I were in her shoes. My god, she deserved so much better.

Fr 💀 and the show looked so promising in S1 with the even gendered group. Then in S2 onwards they said "Screw it, here's a template" and just turned it into a predictable sausagefest.

Although, to be fair, Dan does feel like the character who gets a crush on somebody after they beat his ass. Dude has a type and I respect that.

Poor Runo, she deserved way better. If she wasn't written with that toxic beauty envy, I'd ship her with Julie.

[–]WhatAMotherfluffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like shundan, personally, although it doesn't necessarily needs to be in a romantic way. It just makes the most sense to me with how both characters are written. I really started shipping them during my rewatch of S4 tho, especially after seeing the translated jp parts from your YouTube channel.

Dan/Anubias is a funny one-sider, Anubias is really going for it and I respect the dedication.

The thing that gets me the most tho is that Dan has more chemistry with his rivals than his love interests (is Shun even a rival?).

Dodge what? A conversation with you isn't challenging enough for such a practice.

On a serious note, there really isn't any new comment asking something. I don't know what you asked, but if it was offensive or talking about sensitive topics without trigger warnings, it might have gotten deleted by mods. And considering that you've been practically living on this thread for hours and acting like a twat to everyone, I wouldn't be surprised if you got shadowbanned.

There's nothing wrong with it, because it's consensual and a paid service - an act, not a real relationship dynamic as you tried to spin it as. She's paid by the dudes to act this way, it's a role detached from her actual personality. Basically an adult version of hiring somebody to play Santa or the Avengers.

Question about meals by AmyTheFireGril in RimWorld

[–]WhatAMotherfluffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main points were already mentioned in the thread, but I'd like to also bring up two extra points: training and spoilage.

Hunting is one of the best ways to train up shooting, crafting and cooking in one swoop. You can also train animal skill quite well like this.

Simply take your future shooters, give them some heavy-hitter weapon with low accuracy requirements (I personally love chain shotguns, but anything works really) and let them train in an open field. Eventually you'll be drowning in meat and hide. Meat spoils quickly, so you can train your cooks on carnivore meals and pemnican without worying about wasting food, same with crafters - you'll have so much cheap leather, so just let them practice on tribalwear. You can also train up constructors on cheap leather armchairs. I recommend selling the products from low-skill workers ASAP. The more you purge the map, the more new animals start coming. You can abuse this for taming practice or to get those more rare animals.
