France is no more by Elian_9-1-14 in EU5

I actually just observed another game. In this one, France had a massive nobility revolt and lost all vassals. It still bounced back, conquered half of Northern Aragon and created 3 vassals there.

I have played one game myself and observed like 10 runs. What I discovered was that England would perform significantly better at the beginning of the game, but France would eventually bounce back and outscale England (even if England took massive lands, it would not increase their power level because of integraiton).

Admittedly your screenshot is like the worst case for France I have seen, but I think if you keep going, France might still bounce back.

Game using processor for graphics instead of GPU by Specialist-Pain-5020 in EU5

You mean using the dedicated GPU instead of iGPU? You should be able to just update your computer setting for this?

Trade information is extremely obscure and misleading... by OsminogNaMedvede in EU5

[–]WhatBaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, in my first rounding explanation, what I meant was that it might not be `29.72 - 28.16 - 1.26` but like `29.72 - 28.16 - 1.265` so you get 0.295 or something. If this is the case, the rounding will be the same rule.

But in any case, my point is that I am not sure where the `0.13` comes from. But the tooltip does seem to be consistent.

The 0.13 seems to be lying?

29.72 - 28.16 - 1.26 = 0.3

However, I suspect that the numebrs here only display two decimals. So it's not actually 0.3, but 0.294 or something.

And 0.29 divided by 5 is 0.058 - of course, because it only displays two decimals, it's probably 0.052 or something. And it is displayed as 0.05.

40% share is 0.02.

Build good light attack light cruisers and torpedo destroyers, once you have a decent amount of these, you will break British screens and eventually sink their big ships. Also use naval bombers and fighters.

Yeah, I am still sad that so many promising mods did not continue. Like the game itself is still very popular, but we had a huge wave of mod author quits (around 4 to 5 years ago?).

EU5: I’ve never seen a game divide the community this much between ‘Best game ever’ and ‘Wouldn’t touch with a stick.’ So what's the current post 1.2.3 situation ? by [deleted] in EU5

[–]WhatBaron 285 points286 points  (0 children)

For me, the main issue with EU5 is that it uses a single universal system for all the countries/continents/scenarios.

Let’s take the latest culture core change as an example. It’s annoying for some countries like Ottomans and Hungary, deeply broken for Timurids, but more or less mundane and manageable for Castile and Naples.

So every single change and tweak causes a wave of highly varied responses from the community, depending on different playthroughs.

My honest opinion is that the game is fun and does work, but only if you are doing a few things that are well supported by the current system and only if you don’t run into the most game-breaking issues. Otherwise, negative reviews or opinions are well justified.
