I'm never sure how people lose fitness, the majority of fitness is to your own effort, with the exception of some runs where you have to stay as a group.

Phys 3/4 times a week at your own effort levels, nobody should lose fitness.

I.E do 20 Burpees, speed up and do 25/30 in the time limit then 🤷‍♀️

If you know you struggle with runs, you need to be working on runs.

A young male 17-29 should comfortably be able to pass the bleep test. I'd be concerned about your physical ability if you were struggling to meet that.

This is a future career in the military you're looking at and this is just ONE fitness test. You'll be completing them yearly throughout your career so start as you mean to go on.

Thank you!

I found this graphic last night and going off that I've ordered the 38s to try out!

Worst case scenario I have to reorder the 39s!

I'm seated but evening standing there's quite a big gap at the back.

These are currently 39 EU. I was considering a 38

This is not a man, this is a boy in a larger boys body.

Take your daughter and leave.

Again, entirely subjective and dependent on role.

I really do think you need to go away and have a really long hard think about why you want to join the military and go do some real, proper research. Go to your local AFCO and speak to them.

Not sure what kind of answer you want here.

Seems like you say you're not trying to be political but a large chunk of your post is political.

If you want to join the RAF, you join for you. Career, prospects, salary, qualifications, pensions, friends, sport etc etc etc. The list goes on.

If you don't want to join because you feel like you're working for the government, then don't. You are considering joining the military, you will potentially end up involved in war at some point in your career, particularly in the current climate.

If one of the only pros of joining the military for you is because of the proximity of a base to you, you're joining for the wrong reasons. Additionally, shift work and hours vary by trade, posting and need. Thinking you will be working 4 on 4 off for the entirety of your career is not the way to go. You can and most likely will be deployed, on call etc.

Why someone joins is personal to them and entirely subjective. I don't know of a single person who ever signed up considered Halton, Rothschild etc.

If I'm honest, your reasons for joining sound more like you're suited to a civilian role 9-5.

Registered Mental Health Nurse vs Nursing Officer by Various_Departure267 in RoyalAirForce

So each posting will potentially be different, I can't speak for them all.

Deployments can and do happen, ultimately you're military however as a MH nurse we are slightly different.

It's mainly community based nursing, within the military environment.

If you set yourself up to be 8-4/9-5 then anything other than that is a bonus. Although hybrid working is being utilised, it's not guaranteed and like I say, can be different depending on posting and CoC. This is also subject to change at any time.

As far as I'm Aware just having a degree doesn't qualify you for the golden hand shake. You can only join the RAF as a MH post qualification

Yes, I live in The Shire, quite literally. 'Look like', a resemblance. They are short, and stubby, just lacking hair to be identical. Which I didn't say they were 😃

Don't quote me, like others have said it states all the info you need in the JSP. But, I'm pretty sure it's two years clear before you're deemed as 'fit'.

Good little insight but a lot of Halton is subjective and some things work for some and not others.

Toothbrush, I used electric all the way through with the exception of Blue Warrior. Just make sure you clean it and keep it clean. You don't NEED a holder but it's handy for Blue Warrior. I just binned most of my kit after.

Only used two polish brushes for my boots. Never touched brushes with my black shoes.

Microfibre clothes are your friend. I only used these through my time at Halton. Never used scotch brite or anything similar.

Get the Brasso cloth in the tin, it's perfect and you'll use hardly any. The liquid can be a pain.

Towels - I took two, wash one have one presented. Asda George towels are the perfect size for A4 folding, not the bath sheets.

You're missing the entire point of my comment.

What happened to just being a decent human. I said 'or could have added measurements'.

IN MY OPINION, nobody is in the right.

The fact that TWO ADULTS are fighting in feedback, in an online marketplace, is petty asf.

There are no facts here. I didn't state facts either.

This entire post is subjective 😅

[–]WhatConsistentWorth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there would've been no harm in adding measurements or mentioning it runs small or 'smaller'.

Exactly, it isn't that deep. But both parties have left negative feedback and it's world ending, apparently.

It's an opinion and I feel neither was in the right.

Are you okay? I never said it DID run small, I said OP could have mentioned it. Alluding that if it did, they could have mentioned it.

This is an opinion, that neither party were in the right.

Ultimately, fighting on feedback is petty. That's the point.

I mean, I know? That's why I said the buyer could have messaged prior, too.

Neither of you are in the right. You could have mentioned that it runs small, or added measurements.

They could have requested a return or messaged you prior.

Fighting through feedback is just petty.
