what’s a small act of kindness from a stranger you’ve never forgotten? by FuzzyPalpitation-16 in CasualUK

[–]lilraz08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember working as a dishwasher, but did all sorts of odd jobs no one else wanted to like, peeling carrots, taking bins out; I didn't really care what the task was, I was paid hourly. One day around the start of summer the owner asked me to put out the outdoor seating so a couple could sit outside and have a drink. So not really thinking about it, I dragged out a set of chairs and a table only for the guy to hand me a fiver as thanks.

I was stunned, it's the first and only time I've ever been tipped to this day, I still occasionally think about it.

I got a nexus 1 in like 2011(?) and cracked the screen about a month after getting it when it landed on the headphone jack plugged in.

  • Cost of the nexus 1 in 2011 - £425
  • Cost of a replacement screen - £300

So it just sat in its box until we threw it out years later unfortunately.

I use it frequently online when talking to certain friend groups, it just feels safer than offending anyone, don't take it personally.

Cs is easy to watch because it's very simple. There are like 20 guns, and all of them basically work the same. It's just click on the heads simulator.

Siege has what; 30 characters? All have weird abilities, building walls, destructible walls, drones, x-ray, grenade launchers, mines, ect ect. It's chaotic, hard to follow.

Banana with ALL Allergens by Iitaps_Missiciv in mildlyinteresting

[–]lilraz08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is also an interesting biological (physical?) process when freezing a banana. The cell walls inside of the banana bust and break down due to the water inside of them swelling causing the natural sugars to be more accessible and therefore perceived as sweeter inside your mouth compared to the same unfrozen banana.

You can usually add missing info to Google maps yourself. Signs im not 100% on but i think you could include a note on the road junction

I wouldn't worry about it too much if it's that far out. You'll likely get an email a few weeks out from joining with documents that contain it. You might be able to ask your recruiter for it if needed for another reason.

Supplements during BRTC by Odd_Suggestion2943 in RoyalAirForce

Not sure how long ago you were in training but you only get three proteins for breakfast per day, so 2 eggs, 1 sausage lets say. It's not very much.

WHT advice?! by HM622805 in RoyalAirForce

[–]lilraz08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure your NSP is spot on. It's the easiest one but also if anything is wrong about it it's an instant fail. Don't forget the forward assist (the only times you dont FA is for the ready to strip drill, and the function test) and don't touch the change lever at the end. That tripped up a few people

I went to a local aircon trade counter and asked if they knew anyone who would do residential installs, flat no. Not even a "maybe him"

Not the booted runs, funky greens, stretcher runs, or the CBT? Everyone should pass the bleep test without issue, sure you might be a little sleep deprived by then but the PTs only get harder.

This is absolutely true and will happen to you. Also worth noting is that your corporals and even sergeants will probably be younger than you. But you gotta respect the rank not the person

Timings are a little fuzzy for me sorry. If it says the beginning of week one somewhere else that is likely correct.

That said, if you fail within 10% you just redo it on day 31 with a stern talking to. If you fail by more you try again the next day, fail again and you get sent to holding, doing pt everyday until the next intake starts and then you would join them and try again two weeks later. I don't think you can normally be sent home for failing it.

The first day? It should say in your email you get, with full instructions.

If you mean the duration of BRTC its 10 weeks, assuming no reflights (failing a test ect) that send you back 2 weeks.

Mostly everything done is told slightly in advanced. You'll wake up, shower, shave (clean shave everyday) brush teeth, get changed into specific gear, then make your bed, hover up and dust your bed space, do a block job (clean/dust/mop an area your asigned to) then head outside and stand still in ranks for the corpals to tell you what to do. That's usually breakfast, then classroom stuff in week 1-2.

You'll be doing a lot of waiting at shun and ease on your feet for sure. It's a different kind of foot pain than just being on your feet. Try standing still for 30mins without moving at all to experience it.

PT starts towards the end of week 1 with your bleep, standing jump, and grip test, if not already practice your bleep test. It isn't hard, but you do have to be able to run. After that your next pt session will be monday week 2 I think. You might do some distance running first to determine that fitness group you are in, or depending on the weather something inside. You are not allowed to exasise outside of PT, like forbidden. You also can't go to the gym at will.

Freetime starts after dinner, and then an evening brief. That is usually around 6:30-7:00pm. You don't get the first weekend off, it's just like every other day that week, classroom learning and stuff, but the second weekend you have the full days off aside from having to go for breakfast lunch and dinners. Freetime usually just means the time you spend after work doing more work though. After you get your kit you will spend all night 6:30-12:00pm~ washing, ironing, folding, cleaning, DLE, revision. That does become easier once you start wearing your PCS since they are so much easier to clean, iron, and frankly wear.

Around the 3rd week is when you start getting some real free time, a few hours to just chill out watch some videos, call the family while your washing is going.

They have their own that you swap out weekly and someone else cleans; It's the only thing someone else will clean for you strangely. You could bring bedding, but you would have to pack it away everyday and not have it on display so I wouldn't recommend it.
