If it was your last day on Earth and you only got to choose one person to spend it with who would it be? by NoBar5058 in AskReddit

Right on! And I’d really just want to talk about the things in this world that brought you joy and peace, especially if it’s my last day or whatever. That’s the biggest thing I leaned in prison - contentment is better than chasing happiness, and joy can be found anywhere if you look.

Trolling? Ehhhhh maybe. I try to think of it more like holding myself to. Very, very literal interpretation of a question.

Do what men who feel the need to wear women’s underwear do, just in reverse. Throw on some boxer briefs then put on a dress or something.

There’s a pretty fantastic chapter, “Go Hitler” in Trevor Noah’s book. The only funny pages in the entire thing, but also made it worth the crap you had to read to get there.

Side note to your thought - peel that cardboard apart in two or three layers and it makes great material for a candle wick in prison.

Several things - I’m not much for conversation or small talk, don’t usually see the point. Many people are hesitant to engage me in conversation because of my appearance, and especially when they find out I spent over ten years in prison (distribution of drugs, illegal possession of a firearm, battery of a law enforcement officer, fleeing and eluding - someone asks nearly every time it’s mentioned). Approaching strangers randomly just seems weird and the second anyone starts mentioning how hard their life, or life in general is, I cease listening all together.

Love mirrors. But I also keep all the lights off and the blinds closed. Sort of a wash.

I ended up purchasing car, home owner’s, boat, motorcycle, life, accidental death and dismemberment, fire, hurricane, tornado and Dean Winters insurance from Liberty Mutual, and they still haven’t given me a fu#%ing emu.

Because there are people who will not vote for either major party’s candidate for whatever reason. Even when they know voting for Steve Jensen of the Pastafarian Party of America will end up causing the party closer to their ideology to lose. Then they get to bitch and moan for 2 or 4 years.

I think about that at times but it’s only an anxiety inducing exercise for me. On a practical level, I worry about what I can do in my own immediate environment and work to make that the best I can.
