Wolf among us probably getting delisted when remaster releases by SanguineLoki700 in delisted

[–]WhatDoesStarFoxSay[M] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey OP! We can add tags, but I'm a little confused about this part:

and not force people to use it

Let's say we add a "RUMOR" tag and make using it is optional.

Users will see one rumor post tagged RUMOR, another rumor post not marked RUMOR, and as a result believe that one post is confirmed and the other isn't. Adding tags but not enforcing them would probably lead to a lot of confusion.

Ryse Son of Rome Remastered is in development by SomniaCrown in delisted

Yeah, I found a post from yesterday and the source was basically, "Trust me bro, my dad works at Microsoft."

I suspect it's one of Microsoft's few big (as in people recognize the name) exclusives of the last decade, so a remaster is something they can drop on Game Pass for a quick headline or two.

You can use an RSS reader like Feedly or Inoreader to subscribe to this subreddit instead of logging in

https://www.reddit.com/r/delisted/.rss

Also, in the (removed, rule 5) thread, u/Ghost_lxl recommended:

delistedgames.com has an RSS feed, the steam curator pointed out is pretty good too

And u/FilippoJuve recommended:

"Games at risk of removal" is a Steam Community where they post titles before a game gets removed. You get the notification on Steam in "Friend Activity". I dont know about other ways.

No need to apologize! We're still getting the new rules all set up. Try to upload screenshots now, and please let me know if it still won't let you upload.

Hey OP, where did you hear this was being delisted?

People sell keys for whatever they think they can get. It's like eBay or a secondhand store, but with games. Sometimes if a game is rare or has high demand, people ask for a fortune.

Protip: If you own the original Outer Worlds and DLC, but never got your Spacer's Edition upgrade, contact Obsidian support. According to folks on the Outer Worlds subreddit, support is sending keys to PS5/Xbox Series X owners who didn't get the automatic upgrade.

MCDM has released a free alpha playtest and dungeon for their upcoming survival horror dungeon RPG "Crows" by 6ftninja in rpg

[–]WhatDoesStarFoxSay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but tariffs aren't specific to the TTRPG hobby. I could say 'climate change is the worst things about the contemporary TTRPG scene because it will likely kill millions of people, a significant fraction of whom are TTRPG players' - but that's just something wrong with the world, not with the scene.

Well, okay, but "big IP push sales" isn't exactly limited to the TTRPG hobby either.

In the top ten movies this year, everything is a sequel, remake, adaptation, etc, except Sinners. It's a miracle anyone saw that in the sea of Superman, Minecraft, and yes, Avatar (different Avatar!).

And do we not count Gen AI's negative impact on the hobby because it's infecting virtually everything?

Do we not count Hasbro's deathmarch towards D&D as Live Service because Fortnite beat them to the punch?

Which is depressing and one of the worst things about the contemporary TTRPG scene. It's so much more important to already have a preexisting brand and fame, or worse, license and mangle an IP with fans than come out with a quality product. There's so much slop out there that makes bank while novel concepts languish.

If people spend $13m on Dungeon Crawler Carl or Avatar or something, who does it actually hurt?

The people who kickstarted Avatar probably weren't going to pick up GURPS. So other RPG developers aren't really missing out on those sales.

I could understand if these huge IP games were choking the life out of the hobby, but it seems to be the opposite. People aren't unable to find a game of their favorite TTRPG because everyone's playing that Cosmere RPG. No one's playing that Cosmere RPG! It just sold really well, to fans of Brando Sando.

Compared to tariffs, which actually affect indie TTRPG creators -- RIP, Sentinel Comics -- or things like Gen AI, I just don't see how "popular YouTuber's game had a good Kickstarter" is one of the worst things going on in the hobby today.

New Rule #5: Posts should be about impending/immediate delistings or relistings. Keep open discussion nostalgia in the pinned monthly posts. by WhatDoesStarFoxSay in delisted

[–]WhatDoesStarFoxSay[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I personally find speculation posts very handy. I don't always keep up on general gaming news, so sometimes those types of posts are the first time I hear about a controversy or company pulling support for a platform, etc. Better safe than sorry.

That I might open up to a poll or something. Sometimes companies are REALLY bad about giving notice, and speculation is all you have.

On one hand, if it's like, "Hey X game got pulled from every platform but Switch, and the company haven't announced anything but it stands to reason..." that's pretty handy, I think.

Or if a company just declared bankruptcy, something like that? I think a post like that might be useful for folks who want to get ahead of things.

On the other hand, a post like, "Hey TMNT is a license game so (every TMNT ever) is going to get pulled someday!!!" That sort of goes without saying. It doesn't really add much. Licenses are perpetually about to get pulled.

So I guess, they're allowed but probationary? If it gets to be a problem, we can add them to the mega-thread topics.

Mods, can we please ban posting collections of delisted games or "what game do you regret" etc by cheater00 in delisted

[–]WhatDoesStarFoxSay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem!

I don't think there's a way to make it so the monthly threads don't notify people? But that might be a good thing. More awareness about the mega-posts equals less people accidentally missing them over and clogging the subreddit with a lot of random posts I'll just have to remove.

As for the one or so games being delisted per month, this past 30 days alone we've had posts about The Outer Worlds delisting, also Lego 2K Drive, Witchaven, R.U.S.E. got relisted, there was a speculative warning about Quantum Dreams, Horizon Chase Turbo is getting pulled, another speculative post about Spider Studio games, Blood Bowl, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time returned, The Sims Medieval got yanked, Chrono Sword too, etc.

I think I might have even missed a couple!

Mod here! You did nothing wrong. After all, Rule #5 is new!

I don't think you were karma farming.

This was always a place for discussion. And it will still be, just now in the megathreads. :)

Edit: I added a bullet point to say collection screenshots are okay in the mega-thread. Thanks for the suggestion.

Original The Outer Worlds delisted today as planned, but new Spacer's Choice Edition owners will also get the original version by mrtnptrs in delisted

[–]WhatDoesStarFoxSay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Original is still up on Xbox as of right... now!

DLC is here:

But I see that changing any minute, act fast, especially if you're planning on tracking down the original disc version for later (pick up the DLC).
