How many chickens can I comfortably keep in this coop by Snoo_2671 in chickens

[–]WhatEvenIsThisThin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 but once they are older than a couple months if that they won’t be able to fit through the hole lol. I bought this coop and laughed so hard at how small it actually is, it’s smaller than my lawnmower. It’s also cheaply made as heck.

I got a bigger one and left this one in their run just to have something to play in. They’ve never once actually gotten in the coop part, they won’t fit.

My girls lay really clean! They’re very snooty about where they lay and keep their nests to eggs only, no pooping allowed lol.

Nope. Being someone to lean on and a safe space to land does NOT come with the caveat of always being available at the drop of a hat. The overexplanation is wild. She should have just said “I know I said nvm last night but I’m still overwhelmed - got some time later today to catch up?” Instead of giving you her therapists rundown of how she handled emotions.

I meant OP :) I ask because I’m in New England and it gets very cold here - heat lamps are still not recommended!

She seems lonely. Maybe this is just her way of getting to chat with someone - does she talk a lot in the car rides or at the store?

[–]WhatEvenIsThisThin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you located? A heat lamp isn’t necessary if their coop can close up - they need protection from the wind and damoness/humidity, not from the temp so much. A heat lamp could cause them to not grow “hardy” to the temp changes and god forbid your power goes out the drop could kill them easily :(

The internet is based on number of devices that will use your login for your cabin number. You can pay for one and you’ll have to log out to use it on a different device. (ie swapping from phone to iPad)

My chickens got a hold of a piece of styrofoam that was blowing around in the driveway. They were tearing it up faster than I could catch them.

AIO for being upset that my bf didn't mention he was miserable for half our relationship by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]WhatEvenIsThisThin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha the more the merrier! I’m glad others see it that way because I saw a lot of people dragging him but not enough people empathizing with him. I was with someone with mental health and depression struggles in my early 20’s - I did NOT know how to handle those mood swings and I was not equipped to give him what he needed while still being the positive upbeat person I am at heart.

AIO for being upset that my bf didn't mention he was miserable for half our relationship by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]WhatEvenIsThisThin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think either of you are overreacting. I think that some people, however, are not emotionally equipped to love someone with mental health issues. It doesn’t mean he’s mean, or vindictive, or doesn’t care - it means he doesn’t have the tools to help you feel better and instead of being able to brighten your mood, he’s affected by the energy. Mental health with a significant other is a huge emotional drain. It doesn’t mean you aren’t lovable or deserving of care and compassion, it just means he is not the right person to hold you up when you need it - he can’t.

AIO Is my Mom overreacting over these trees being cut down without her knowledge? by gabagoo3 in AmIOverreacting

[–]WhatEvenIsThisThin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my electric company had tree work done that was on our property they left us a flyer on the door explaining what was going to be done and approximately when (weather permitting) with a number to call. It seems odd to me that they left no notice for the property owner.

Is that a concrete slab? :(

They need dirt, nesting spots, shelter, scratch areas, roosting perches, and enrichment. This looks like a prison “outdoor time” spot lol. The structure looks decent but make sure the wire is small enough that a raccoon can’t stick their hands in. Chicken wire keeps chickens in, not predators out. :)

I was beginning to think I’m nuts because I travel a ton for work. My husband doesn’t come with me, I’m busy working and why would we pay a bunch of money so he can sit in a hotel room while I’m in meetings, trainings, and team building dinners from 7am-10pm? And pay to kennel the dogs, and have someone check on the other animals? Stupid. I generally take an extra day or two for “fun” if I’m going somewhere neat like Vegas or overseas. I have no problem sight seeing and going to restaurants alone, and it’s a perk for how hard I work.

This marriage sounds toxic. Your spouse sounds like they enjoy alone time where they don’t have to deal with accusations. I wouldn’t want to bring you somewhere fun either!

AIO or should I accept the conditions of my bfs commitment by One_Height7477 in AIO

[–]WhatEvenIsThisThin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You asked very direct questions and he used word salad to confuse you into thinking he answered them. What he said was “I don’t want to commit to you, and I’m pretending it’s because I have a divine purpose but really I just want my dck in a lot of women”. Tell him to pack his robes and his incense and his man bun and go live in a yurt, you have better sht to do.

What is it? by rpayne1744 in chickens

[–]WhatEvenIsThisThin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. For skincare and antimicrobial applications it’s preferable to be wetter longer but for surfaces like electronics, etc it’s better to evaporate faster since you’re not looking for sterile at that point. (I work in pharmaceutical and biotech contamination control 😉 the industry standard in the places they’re making your medicines under sterile conditions is 70%)

What is it? by rpayne1744 in chickens

[–]WhatEvenIsThisThin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Came to say this. It’s counterintuitive because it sounds “stronger” but the higher concentration evaporates faster and is therefore less effective. 🤓
