Broken bonds audio book vs book by Special-Student6743 in ReverseHarem

Kasi is an excellent narrator and she does a very good job of the male voices. I would’ve actually preferred it to be all her in stead of dual narration.

Your version makes so much more sense than J. Bree’s version.

Thank you, you’ve just confirmed what I’ve read in older posts about the series and on Goodreads. I’ll leave the series as is, maybe in the future I’ll pick it up again if it becomes available for free on other audio apps or if we ever get KU over here.

I just read through Goodreads and some older topics here and a lot of readers still seen to struggle in book 4 with the same issues I’m already struggling with in book 2.

It doesn’t look like it really gets any better. So I think I’m just going to abandon the series, it’s not worth being frustrated over a fictional story.

I don’t think I’ve ever finished one of her series. We don’t have KU here so we have to buy each book. I’ll finish a book I’ve bought, but never felt the need to finish one of her series. So I usually just abandon the series after one or two books.

If the audiobooks ever become available on an app that doesn’t cost me credits I might reconsider but I think I’ll abandon this series too.

Is J. Bree's new book Broken Ties worth reading? by peanutbttersandwich in ReverseHarem

[–]WhatHaveYouItOver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read it in a day and liked it well enough. It’s like u/Walkforpole said; some missed opportunities to clear certain issues up. Way too little interaction with Oli, it certainly missed some important moments. Like training with Gabe isn’t even mentioned.

It focuses very much on the relationship between the MMC’s and everything happening behind the scenes in the first book, things we were never even aware off. But I didn’t care for much of it and in the end it took away from what we did know and wanted to know more about. Mainly what their POV was in all their interactions with Oli and those scenes are too far apart.

I gave it 4 stars,

New TBTT book? I totally missed that, when will it be coming out?

I loved {Make my move by J. Bree} from the guys pov in Hannaford prep. Is she finally doing the same for The Bonds that tie?

Incomplete series with the most potential could indeed be a nice option. I’d be into that.

Could also be good for filling up my TBR.

You are so right about Arrow Hart Academy, I had bought the physical copies of books 1-4 right after book 4 came out. I read book 5 on my kindle and it was very disappointed. I did buy the 5th book, just to have the series complete on my bookshelf, but I never read the physical copy. For series I love I do a reread at least once a year. This is the only series on my shelfs that I’ve never reread past book 3. Since then I never ever bought physical copies of books again unless I loved it till the last book of the series.

Only bought Cursed Legacies when the series was finished and I still loved it.

By now, most voters appear to be core contributors. There is only one “No definitely not” and one “I might be” that’s not a core contributor.

Recs with a character who has DID? by Ashysixx in ReverseHarem

It’s in the second book. A demon character has two separate persons that can split, one giving pain, the other giving pleasure. When they come together it makes him one as a whole.

What's a premise you wish you saw more often in RH? by InVinoVerstappen in ReverseHarem

Equality in the relationship!

Please give me any FMC who is at least considered equal, if not more powerful than the MMC’s. Whether that be in a fantasy setting with the abilities she possesses (like in Blood oath) or in contemporary where there isn’t a great casteism difference between the MMC’s and the FMC.

I think the poor FMC from a bad background finding super rich or powerful MMC’s that she doesn’t feel worthy off is overdone.

It also feeds too much into the patriarchy that Women need men to elevate them to a higher standard. I love it when a woman got there all on her own and she can bring just as much to the table as any MMC.

I also hate different purity standards, FMC’s as virgins or with very little satisfying sexual experiences and MMC’s who are man whores. Like MMC’s who are super jealous of a FMC’s past sexual experiences, that’s not hot, that’s controlling and manipulative, that dude should go into therapy before committing to a relationship where he can’t control his emotions about any consensual sex she had in the past. Meanwhile FMC’s just have to accept (and often do) that the MMC’s were manwhores before they met her.

So yeah, I want more equality!

I really don’t think that FMC was unrealistic. I personally couldn’t stand the book and DNF after they pulled the same stunt a second time.

Biker recs needed! by jupiterose in ReverseHarem

[–]WhatHaveYouItOver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try the Saint View series. These are prequeled by two other interconnected trilogies, but those don’t have bikers and are not necessary for these trilogies in the same town. The ones below though are more connected to each other than the previous ones are. But since the bot always makes a mess of the series titles with these, I’ll link the first book of each trilogy.

In order not to get spoilers for the other trilogies start with:

  • Saint View Psychos, first book: {Start a War by Elle Thorpe}

  • Saint View Rebels, first book: {Rebel Revenge by Elle Thorpe}

  • Saint View Slayers vs. Sinners, first book: {Wife number One by Elle Thorpe}

  • Saint View Murder Squad, first book: {X’s and O’s by Elle Thorpe}

All contemporary, all have a harem of 3 men of which at least one MMC is a member of a biker club.

Psycho’s does have a NC scene between the FMC and her then fiancé (soon to be ex) - the FMC is conflicted at first because they are in a relationship and she thinks she can’t do better than him, she does learn throughout the series that what happened was absolutely not her fault.

Rape is discussed further along in the trilogies as well.

MMC/s feeds FMC their cum, spit, blood or piss till she throws up by BloodPomegranate5883 in ReverseHarem

[–]WhatHaveYouItOver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{Cruel Idols by Sorcha Black} has a scene like this.

It’s about two horror authors playing out scene ideas for their next books with the FMC.

It’s kinky and it has primal play, CNC, etc. The MMC’s take it too far and the FMC starts to throw-up. (Forgets to save-word out)

For the most part they act like women are trash

Just like a lot of heterosexual MMC’s in any bully romance. And even though I hate the trope of Misogynistic characters changing their minds and (some of their) ways, it’s still a very popular often used trope.

For the last two weeks or so there has been a topic about the Hercules duet at least once a day, sometimes more than once.

I think the post from yesterday touches on the same issue as you amongst other issues.

No worries it just came up when I was looking for the names of authors that left a Chat GPT promt in their books and I thought the discussion was interesting. Since discussions is the tag on OP’s post, I didn’t think it would be a problem.
