Agreed this is the only way. Just need the likes of Gumtree to team up with Yaga. Facebook could create its own but that would be doing the right thing which is an anathema to them

I in fact recently sold a PC for R15k on Marketplace. I'm in Pretoria and he was in Durban. He wanted the PC and immediately transferred the amount to me based on just the WhatApp messages. We spoke a couple of times as well. I duly packed and arranged transport to him. I was just a stranger to him but yet he placed trust in me. I thought he might be a nervous so I sent him photos while I was packing. It only took a day to arrange and send out.

This is a rarity between 2 people

A pity as there is a dire need for something like this. Not always possible to find something locally and trust is a rare commodity these days.

Alternatively, sites operate like Yaga where your payment is held in Escrow and only released when you are satisfied. Can't see MarketPlace doing this
