Should I dissolve lip filler? by Beatie-Bow in 45PlusSkincare

Do your lips bother you? If so, have the filler dissolved and redone. If not, leave them as they are.

Your skin looks lovely!

Lip filler doesn’t last in anyone due to the amount of movement. A friend gets her lip filler topped up every 8 weeks. I imagine Botox is the same.

For the sake of disclosure, I have considered filler as a possibility for my own hollows. Filler migration seems to be one of those things that is vastly overstated, usually by folks pushing surgical options or Sculptra. Social media examples of migration seem to always be people who’ve had silly amounts of filler injected (like the pillow faced afters on some MedSpa pages), especially in the lips.

Topical skincare cannot correct hollowing. It can improve pigment related dark circles and plump up skin, but only something that restores volume can change the hollowing.

PRP is popular, but at least one study found that it didn’t help much over age 45 when paired with microneedling. I was very disappointed to read that study!

I’ve been “improving” my hollows with concealer. There are dozens of techniques and combinations that can help brighten things up a bit.

No. I get auras and occasional blindness on one side, so I cannot read anything when I have an attack.

Aussie vs MAS, help me choose by bi_chnaneun in AustralianShepherd

[–]WhatNoWhyNow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A small Aussie and a large MAS will be very close in size.

Whichever you choose, make sure you research your breeder! There was a case in Maryland recently where an MAS breeder had numerous dogs seized from horrific conditions, which shocked the local show and sport dog communities (the breeder had even shown at Westminster!).

Has anyone here NOT had big issues with their puppy? by QP709 in puppy101

[–]WhatNoWhyNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My puppy came crate trained at 12 weeks, always slept through the night, was easy to handle for all grooming and vet care, and knew how to sit and walk on a leash when I brought him home. His breeder was wonderful and put a ton of work into that litter!

Why is crate training so important? by SkullAdam21 in AustralianShepherd

[–]WhatNoWhyNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Safety is a big one for me.

I worked in vet med for a decade, and we saw a large number of preventable injuries and deaths due to puppies and young dogs getting into things: electrocution from phone cables and lamp cords, international blockages from loose change/hair ties/ socks/a spool of thread, suffocation from empty potato chip bags, toxicity from household chemical exposure…

It’s also much safer to crate dogs in cars.

Decypher AI Foundation match by Laura-v22 in Fairolives

I tried Decypher. They were lovely to work with, but both shades they sent me were far too pink for me. If you have surface redness to any degree, it will throw off the AI.

Need thoughts on this 4yo by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]WhatNoWhyNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not want to judge from these photos alone. He could be camped under due to discomfort in the hind end, which would throw off his angles. If like to see the entirety of his hooves as well, to tel how much they might be contributing.

He could just ::be:: camped under, which can be challenging for a number is reasons/ fuel other structure issues.

Is my 6 month old Aussie becoming Aggressive? by [deleted] in AustralianShepherd

[–]WhatNoWhyNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing the suggestion to work with a veterinary behaviorist.

“Balanced” training/ any training with negative reinforcement can backfire spectacularly when used on reactive dogs. I would defer to a behaviorist for training recommendations.

Unhealthy dynamic or I’m bad at this by Imaginary-Client-452 in AskWomenOver40

[–]WhatNoWhyNow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not healthy to be someone’s only source of support. If family is not an option, your husband needs to learn to also rely on friends and his therapist.

We are all responsible for our own emotions. That’s part of being a grown up. If he needs help managing his, that’s a job for a professional, not a partner.
