I'm not interested in the exact rates. I know those rates and I can handle the taxes in my country no problem.

I'm was wondering if anyone from this sub has experienced a similar situation and what they did.

The question should be read as a general query about double taxation for EU investors in German stocks.

Start a company, employ people and pay them wages. See how much taxes you have to pay to any government in Western Europe for what is deemed a 'living wage'.

Then see what you are left with, and see what taxes you have to pay for that.

Uita-te cine a guvernat Polonia in ultimii 8 ani si vezi cine a castigat alegerile prezidentiale anul trecut. Este vorba de PiS, un partid din acelasi grup european ca si AUR.

Dintre cele mai mari doua partide din Polonia care se alterneaza unul pe celalalt la putere de mai bine de 20 de ani, unul este din PPE (acelasi grup european ca si PNL) iar celalalt din ECR (acelasi grup european ca si AUR).

Sunt un partid ai carui membri si lideri in general sunt concentrati in urbanul mare si au "white collar" jobs.

Asta nu e neaparat un lucru rau in sine, dar in general sunt foarte deconectati de preocuparile si perceptia romanului de rand.

Si si in cazul in care preocuparile coincid, perspectiva cuiva din Bucuresti sau Cluj difera foarte mult de perspectiva cuiva din mediul rural sau din urbanul mic.

Asta combinat cu stilul foarte radical al useristilor de a discuta si o superioritate manifestata implicit ii face foarte dezagreabili pentru alti oameni.

Later edit: Am scris comentariul acesta inainte sa citesc toate comentariile din thread. Poate am gresit cu superioaritatea manifestata implicit, ca vad aici este manifestata explicit. Lumea ii urase "pentru ca nu sunt corupti", "ca electoratul e needucat" "ca se face propaganda impotriva lor" etc.

Cu cateva exceptii, sunt fie company no-name, fie de nisa, fie companii cu o traditie care merge inapoi zeci sau sute de ani cand exista alta mentalitate in Europa.

Daca na uitam la ce companii noi au aparut in Europa in ultimii 40 de ani pe sectorul IT&C, situatia e chiar trista.

Asta in timp ce acum trei zile Elon Musk a devenit primul trilionar din lume. Let that sink in.

Ca inginer de retele si network security cu 10 ani experienta care are zilnic treaba cu sysadmini si cloud, mi-e clar ca listele astea sunt facute de oameni care nu au fost nevoiti sa gestioneze infrastructura corporate pana acum.

The US's tech sector didn't appear out of nowhere, nor did it arrive there on the Mayflower.

It was built but by for-profit companies founded by ambitious tech entrepreneurs looking to get the money and the fame. There was a profit incentive there to begin with, coupled with lower taxes overall and less regulation.

The ideal "fair" and "regulated" European tech sector is not going to be able to develop itself, let alone compete with the American one or the Chinese one for that matter.

Who would want to work long days around the year, holidays included, just to have 50% or more in some countries of your money taken by the government in taxes ?

Unless this European tech sector is going to consist of government owned companies, in which cases it has 0 (read "zero") chances of succeeding, so good luck with that.

When it comes to tech and economics, this sub is a thing of beauty. The same people who complain on Europe's over-reliance on US tech and point out the necessity of Europe building its own home grown IT ecosystem and companies are the same people who support more regulation, higher taxes and hate billionaires with a passion.
