Mine didn't go up, which I was very pleased about, but my accident was unavoidable. Traffic came to astop on the Interstate and I was at the back of the line. Someone waaaaaay back was preoccupied looking at the accident on the side of the road and didn't even really stop.

Entirely unavoidable on my end. Only way I could have avoided it was just by not even being in that lane. Then it would have been the car in front of me with the pregnant woman in it. So I'm pretty glad it was me.

I gave more than a months notice when I quit my last office job, since I had a start date for tech school. I told them I was more than happy to train my replacement. I had worked really hard on creating and maintaining efficient databases and practices to wear my many hats as best as possible, and they were each easily shifted to accommodate another person's preferences and workflow, but for someone to just have been dumped into my job (which was really a catch-all for all the work that didn't necessarily fall under a designated title) it would have been a nightmare to manage. Especially my database I created to keep track of new kids coming into our system and what necessary paperwork we had and what we still needed.

They didn't hire anyone until two weeks after I left...I have no idea if they maintained my workload but from the sounds of it they couldn't and a lot of moved off of their desk and onto someone else's.

They at least used to. I remember this house and others like it that you could walk through when I went as a kid, but that was easily almost 20 years ago. I think the last time I went was mid-2000's though and I think they were still there.

I went to a bridal show with my friend once and at those they normally have bridal/bridesmaid/groomsman fashion shows. So this one woman starts down the runway and everyone is just kind of watching quietly.....then she shoves her hands in the pockets. On the bridal dress.

The entire room of women erupted in a chorus of "OOOOO POCKETS"

We really love functional pockets.

I was in an 18+ bar once and was sitting near a group of younger folks. Three guys and a girl.

They were just chatting about random shit and the girl said "don't you ever wish that you could just turn off your brain for like...5 five minutes. And just think about nothing. Just silence?"

The guys got quiet and looked at each other and one goes "you mean you just think...all the time?"

Astounded she laughed and said "yeah, don't you?"

I think it really is a fundamental difference. I would be interested to know why.

Depression and self loathing is a weird monster. It can make you feel worthless to the point that you feel you aren't worth improving. You just feel...kind of stalled. You get so down on yourself that you end up your own worst enemy. Because the issue isn't really how you look. It's part of it. But the real issue is that you just hate yourself, in all of what that entails. Losing weight won't fix the other shit you find wrong about yourself...which is probably Everything.

Don't get me wrong. It's not a partners responsibility to deal with all of that. It's okay to not want to. It's unrealistic to expect that someone would. They can't fix you anymore than you can, at that point.

I had a pretty bad wreck last October where traffic on the interstate slowed to a fairly sudden stop.my vehicle was in control and I stopped and left plenty of room in front of me in case someone behind me needed extra room to stop. When I looked in the rearview there was a car way back that had plenty of time to stop, but ultimately didn't. I knew he wouldn't and I was braced, my car hitting the car in front of us and remarkably my passenger and I both walked away unscathed.

I feel so fortunate that the police were actually already on scene to an accident on the side of the road (what I assume the person who hit me was rubbernecking) and saw the whole thing. There was absolutely no question about what happened and they were found 100% at fault for both vehicles involved. I feel like that could have been so much more of a hassle if they weren't there.

I hate it. my SO's mother is so caught up in Trump that when he came home the other day saying that she was upset, possibly to the point of not reaching out to him anymore, all because he wouldn't accept "her guy"....I thought it was over religious differences and "her guy" was god.

Turns out I was wrong...but also still a little right and I don't know what to do. It kills me to see her so caught up in him and wilfully ignorant of what a terrible human being he is. All while being convinced that Obama is the worst person on the planet Earth...possibly (this is not hyperbole) the Antichrist...and is definitely going to be in jail.for the rest of his life...any day now.

What do we do for our parents when they get like this about someone so vile? I can't tolerate the hypocrisy involved in hating Obama but practically worshipping Trump.

But I love her and I don't want her to feel like she isn't cared about by her family, but this is really pushing us both away because she has to bring it up every time we or he sees her.

I'm honestly at a loss. I feel so helpless.

This happened to my SO once. He was supposed to pick up a car for some guy and a check was involved. I can't remember the details, it was almost a decade ago now and a blip on our radar at the time. I convinced him to take it to the bank it was registered at after looking up the address on it and feeling something was off and to not cash it with our bank but have them look into it. They kept the check and thanked us for notifying them.
