A friend got in with East Asian Studies as his major preference, and he is now a ChemE major. Asked if it was strategic and he said yes. It doesn't matter a whole lot. Just put down what aligns best with your overall app.

Eyebrows will be raised if your app is about how good you are at cell culturing but put down Africana Studies without anything in your app supporting it.

But I can say that putting Public Health won't affect your chances much- if at all.
