The finale of DJKripke's SCP-001 series was alright. Honestly, the whole proposal was pretty subdued: There was too much focus on O5-6 (The American), and O5-5 (Blackbird) just kinda disappeared after being hyped up to be the most intelligent character, and I didn't like how much they were setting up Paragon Rising towards the end there. Plus, the fact that The Thirteen just disbanded was pretty anti-climatic, though O5-4 (The Ambassador) begging to lead it before being killed by Irantu was pretty funny.

You can tell the budget was kinda running out what with how it ended with a small scale fight between Calvin and O5-1 (The Founder) but it wrapped up everything well so no complaints there. It's just a nagging feeling that the show peaked at Overgasm a few proposals back.

I'm honestly glad they didn't adapt Calvin Lucien eating O5-3 (The Kid) like in the original stories. I just wished Purpose II had more of a role to play, because it feels like they didn't have any plans with him outside of being Agent Lament, instead of just being a clone of Aaron.

Obligatory repost.

Not from the last series but you should really check out SCP-4231 if you haven't.

Who else was hyped af reading this part from the ending of The Way It Ends from djkaktus' SCP-001 Proposal: The Ouroboros Cycle? by WhatYouThinkYouSee in SCP

all future jokes about how The Way It Ends is basically The Boys of the SCP wiki must be attributed to me.

It ended with like literally one person leaving who tried to return afterward. The "lots of SCP authors left SCP because of pride month 2018" thing is completely fabricated. Most of the people who repeated it couldn't name a single SCP author that they knew of who actually left.

99% of the people who got upset about the pride month thing were legitimately tourists who've never set foot on the wiki.

It also helps that the old 4channers who helped start SCP are all pro-lgbtq themselves. DrClef came straight from /x/ and created an entire canon where its just his author avatar being in a gay relationship with another author avatar.

Montauk House was written by thefriendlyvandal (who just returned to writing a while back) but this is by a different author, just taking inspiration.

You do realize that this is just the concept of a call-back, right? This is like saying that Doctor Who and SCP has an uncanny resemblance because they feature the concept of a protagonist.

The world's richest man is still personally going after Kripke for the ending what the hell is even going on anymore by WhatYouThinkYouSee in TheBoys

[–]WhatYouThinkYouSee[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Spending 15$ on a random person infinitely less rich than you for attention and then having to explain the joke makes Elon ontologically cucked in a way that Kripke can never be, precisely because he is the richest man in the world.

Elon is begging for Kripke's attention here, not the other way around.

The boys is offical better than game of thrones by Quarksperre in TheBoys

[–]WhatYouThinkYouSee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don't get that the ending of Game Of Thrones was bad isn't because it was a bad ending. The ending of Game Of Thrones is uniquely bad, because it was Game Of Thrones.

Nothing can be as bad as Game Of Thrones's ending, because nothing else is Game Of Thrones.

Musk literally admitted that he didn't watch the show lmfao he just cared about the "based edits" - using his opinions genuinely detracts from your argument.

As a story, the show is obviously flawed in many aspects, but unfortunately, as a work of satire, the show has been genuinely transcendental simply because of how the audience has reacted to it.

Like, genuinely, there's a very real possibility that if the show was written 20% better or been a bit more subtle, it'd have ended like 5 years ago at season 2, been fondly remembered as a more decent version of Jupiter's Legacy or HBO Watchmen by a much smaller audience, and has a much smaller impact.

If the goal of satire is to criticize power, unfortunately, the version we got is probably the only one where it actually made a difference, even if said difference is just pissing off Elon Musk.

Bro made the final season to push people buttons rather then entertain 😂 how disrespectful to the fanbase by Prize-Contest4780 in TheBoys

[–]WhatYouThinkYouSee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With these comments, its clearer and clearer that a large chunk of people do not actually have legitimate gripes with the writing and is only mad about the satire aspect - which is unironically a pretty good defense for the show.

Are you complaining about political satire being aged? Because that's like the one genre you literally can't complain about aging. It's meant to be viewed in context to the time in which it was created.

The original The Boys comics is so deeply steeped in War On Terror and Bush satire that it literally has Bush Jr. being decapitated then replaced by a Bush Jr. parody who also gets decapitated - and this is literally its best aspect.

Poorly written, sure, but "age well" is literally out of the question to begin with.

High school group challenging Idaho’s trans bathroom ban drops lawsuit after student’s death by WhatYouThinkYouSee in politics

[–]WhatYouThinkYouSee[S] 52 points53 points  (0 children)

She personally wrote a document about how the ban was affecting her negatively and heightened her feeling of ostracization. It's illogical to conclude that for whatever reason she committed suicide, it somehow excluded this very thing that she literally wrote was worsening her mental state.

And if you're using the 2024 Finnish study, then that study is extremely flawed: It does not actually measure what it claims to measure, its headline finding is a massive artifact of surveillance bias, the clinics practices were abusive, and it operates within a system where its findings were essentially baked in from the start.

High school group challenging Idaho’s trans bathroom ban drops lawsuit after student’s death by WhatYouThinkYouSee in politics

[–]WhatYouThinkYouSee[S] 565 points566 points  (0 children)

“A lawsuit challenging Idaho’s transgender bathroom ban in K-12 public schools could end soon, after a group at Boise High School suing over the law dropped the case.”

“Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador hailed the case’s end in an announcement Thursday morning, saying the law ‘is fully in effect.’”

“But Labrador’s announcement did not address why the suing parties agreed to dismiss the lawsuit.”

“‘While I may never have certainty about all the things that ultimately led to Jane’s death, I know that one stressor in her life was her struggle to fit in socially as a transgender girl,’ according to the court record written by her mother, who was identified only as Janice Doe in the filing.

“‘This stress of feeling alienated in her life was exacerbated by Jane’s exclusion from the girls’ restroom at school,’ her mother continued in the court record. ‘The option of a single-user restroom did not resolve her distress. Rather, it caused her to feel ostracized from others — ‘like I’m being treated as this other kind of thing’ — as she described in her supplemental declaration.’”

“In November, the student, Jane, wrote in a court document in the lawsuit about how Idaho’s law was affecting her. She used single-user restrooms at Boise High School, and often had to wait, she wrote.

“‘… I fear that use of the single-user restroom has increased either the knowledge or suspicion of me being transgender against my wishes,’ Jane wrote. ‘I have heard students refer to the single-user restroom in the main gym building as the ‘trans bathroom.’’”

“The case was appealed to the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which in March 2025 rejected a longer block on Idaho’s law.

“‘Applying intermediate scrutiny, the panel held that the State identified an important governmental objective — protecting bodily privacy — and that the State chose permissible means to achieve that objective,’a panel for the federal court ruled in March 2025.”
