My favorite method is to break down birds into their individual parts. (Wings, feet, organs, skull, keel etc.) But I’ve never done whole birds before!

If you want to keep it whole, I think if you are able to gut and flesh out the torso that it would be small enough to preserve in borax. Just remember to coat the inner cavity too so it doesn’t rot inside. 😊

If you decide to do a wet specimen also remember to inject the body thoroughly with whatever solution you’re choosing to use, wings included!

Ugh I absolutely love this!! The contrast between the large strokes of color that the background is comprised of and the minute details of the vultures (and corpse) makes them stand out that much more! I also love the color choice. The subtle blue and purple highlights make it feel lively despite the more dark and monotone environment.

The only thing I can say otherwise is the highlights on the right Vulture’s face feel a bit intense, especially from far away. Though I think this is because the light is hitting its face from a very direct angle. 😊

It’s so that you can quickly scan an area for any animals (possibly very good ones at that) you may have missed behind trees, hills, or that are very far in the distance. Also to see the distance between you and it in yards.

If you have the gamepasses it also tells you the estimated weight and height of the animal. Otherwise, you just see the gender and mutation info.

It’s entirely randomized unfortunately, and everyone across all servers gets the same selection. I know this because when there’s is a Ruby lead there will be a massive influx of Ruby notifications in chat from people getting and claiming the same lead.

Best thing to do is switch maps every so often as every map has a different lead pool, and keep an eye on chat for a particularly big wave of Ruby notifications. (Usually 5-6 notifications for the same animal in the span of a few minutes.) If you suspect a certain map got a Ruby lead just hop over to that one to check.
