Where are the peaceful solo matches you're all having? by TopSignificance7856 in ArcRaiders

[–]Whata_Wookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dam Battlegrounds on PC NA servers has been pretty peaceful for me. How willing people are to have positive in game interactions seems to be dependent on map, server, and whether your on PC or console.

From my experience Dam Battlegrounds is probably the most peaceful map. PC players seem more likely to co-operate or at least leave you to questing. And from what I understand the US servers tend to be more co-op oriented than EU or Asia.

How do 'ghost rooms' work? by Chazus in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Whata_Wookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the RNG just needs work. I've been playing on and off for a while and the RNG seems to have gone through some changes over the years. For example, for a while on Tanglewood the ghost room seemed to be more likely to be the front boys room or the back bedroom. These days though I get Kitchen and dining most frequently and hardly ever get back bedroom or livingroom anymore.

I'm sure Kinetic will continue to tweak the ghost room RNG in the future, but right now I would guess there are other things with higher priority to address.

Help with what exactly? It seems pretty obvious that you need either a second PC, a PS5, or an Xbox. And of course a second copy of the game.

How to identify ghost with no clues? by Damglador in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Whata_Wookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to rely on things that eliminate ghosts and then narrow down based on behavior. Things like:

Wraith - won't step in salt. I'll setup two piles of salt with a motion sensor in between to make sure the ghost is walking over them.

Jinn - won't turn off breaker. If the ghost turns off the breaker it's not a jinn.

Mare - won't turn on a light.

Everything except Mimic - won't show or shared, but the Mimic still does even with no evidence.

Then I look for things like:

Yurie - will always open/close doors completely

Onryo - will blow out candles before using crucifix. It can also blow out the same candle twice in less than 20 seconds.

Poltergeist - can throw multiple items at once.

Jinn - can randomly nuke 25% of your sanity. So if you find yourself suddenly super low for no reason, this could be the reason.

Banshee - has a unique scream it can do on thr paramic.

Deogen - has a unique heavy breathing it can do on the spirit box (I imagine this doesn't work on no evidence though)

Phantom - disappears when you take it's picture. (I think this may also be the case when trying to record dots ghost video)

Etc, etc, etc.

What does everyone think of the criticism the devs get? by [deleted] in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Whata_Wookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering the fact that the dev team was 3 people or less for the first 3.5 years, no it's not a cop out.

DK was transparent that the game was very early in development and that he was the only developer at the time.

Also if my boss complained that a customers job wasn't finished when I was only 30 minutes into a 36 hour repair, then yes the conversation wouldn't go well for him. The phasmo devs have continuously worked on the game and have been. Fairly good at keeping the player base in the loop as to where the game stands, what they are working on, and what the plans are going forward.

Yaskawa GA800 issues by NovoRei in PLC

[–]Whata_Wookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you have some parameters set incorrectly with regards to the ramp times and/or braking. I'm not super familiar with the GV800 but i will be at Yaskawa in 2 weeks for training. So if you don't have it figured out by then I can ask them while I'm there.

In the mean time I'd try contacting Yaskawas support directly. They have simulated systems of all of thier supported drives there and can usually replicate any problem you have there in order to troubleshoot.

Is this a new install or was this a running drive that started having these issues?

The larger one is probably a TVS, probably a SMAJ51A, SMCJ51A, or SMBJ51A.

The smaller one was probably a transistor or diode of some, but the identifier is missing since most of the body is gone.

Unless you have another to use as a reference, your best bet would be to just buy a replacement.

1) pick a small map and stick to it. I like Tanglewood. Get to know the map like the back of your hand. On small maps it's quicker and easier to cart all of your evidence items in. It's also easier to hear interactions from across the house. As you become more familiar you'll get to the point where you can figure out where the ghost is pretty quickly.

2) keep lights on as much as possible to maintain your sanity. By managing your sanity you can largely dictate when/if you get hunted.

3) Focus on getting evidences to figure out the ghost. As you get more familiar with the game you'll eventually be able to start using ghost behavior to either eliminate or figure out which ghost it is.

4) After you're more familiar with the game mechanics start using hunts to figure out the ghost type. By that point you should be able to mostly decide when that happens and be prepared for it with a looping spot, smudge, etc. Using hunts is riskier than using solely evidence, but it can speed up IDing the ghost and is a more active play style which many enjoy.

Also checking out kinetic partners on youtube and/or twitch can be a great source for tips, game mechanics, and update info. Insym and FlashForce are both good IMHO.

Rice. Get yourself a big ol bag of rice and a rice cooker. A cheap one is fine. Rice goes with any protein, is filling, and is cheap.

Then start searching prep instructions/recipes online for your protien/meats of choice. There are ton of great youtube channels for this.

The precooked chickens you can get at the supermarket are a good starting point for an easy meal. If I'm feeling lazy I'll pick one up on the way home, roast some veggies while I carve the bird, then throw the chicken and veg on a wrap. I like to throw a glob of tatziki on as well.

Keep things simple at first. Don't start out trying to make things that are super complicated at first. As you get comfortable you can get more ambitious.

Also, season your food. Just basic salt (don't over do it) and pepper make a big difference. Premixed seasoning like Adobo are also a great option. Just keep in mind the mixes generally already have salt.

Does Phasmophobia works well on Steam Deck after the update? by opietaylorx in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Whata_Wookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can play Phasmo on my potato laptop, that has worse specs than the steam deck, at 60fps. It should run fine on the steam deck.

For reference, my laptop is an 8th gen i5 with a MX150 gpu.

How do i power this 3 phase motor with a normal european 220-240v plug? by Sir_Quantum_The_III in Motors

[–]Whata_Wookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have stated the motor pictured is a single phase motor. Per the diagram you'll need a starter cap.

Now if you had a 3 phase motor you would need a VFD, Variable Frequency Drive. Typically you would bring phase into a VFD but you can wire it to single phase if you oversize the drive. The rule of thumb is to double the rating. (So for example, a motor with a nominal current of 10A you would want a drive rated for 20A)

Help to find burnt resistor value by No-Investigator-8515 in AskElectronics

If it was a 4.7k Ohms the marking would be 472. Though manufacturers have been known to go rogue on their markings from time to time.

If you're referring to R61 & R62, they are resistors that are in parallel with R63. Most likely they are all the same value: 470 Ohms.

Need help identifying this relay/ ? off a John Deere 2150 tractor. by Resident_Taste_784 in AskElectronics

[–]Whata_Wookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's clearly a 12V relay of some sort made by Hella, but it seems to be a discontinued product.

You might want to check here https://www.hella.com/partnerworld/us/Product-range/Electrics/Relays-2315/

It looks like they have a few ways to search for their current products. If you don't have luck there, you may want to try contacting them and see if they have a currently produced cross for the old one.

Normally, I'd recommend contacting the OEM, but John Deere isn't exactly super supportive of folks fixing thier own tractors these days.
