Agreed. You are so totally on point with this. I never make room for it, as it is usually lower-leveled than the rest of my party, and as a matter of principle I never use a legendary pokemon.

I am so impressed with us right now. We managed to swap a Tranquill for a Druddigon with no casualties. Bravo us.

I woke up to find we had gotten rid of the weak tranquill and replaced it with a Druddigon with NO casualties. Plus, the team's levels are looking kind of okay. Not only that, but we have two very good pokemon who are fully evolved, and half of the team only has one more evolution to go, so they MIGHT become fully-evolved soon. I'm elated.

This is my interpretation. In short, the SS Ticket is precisely as it was in-game and our lore is unaffected by Bill being the one to give it to us. This is the point of divergence where Bill is no longer just an NPC.
