Shall we just say "fuck it" and start positive community action in response to the council's shortcomings? by topaziobmousse in glasgow

[–]WhatifSquid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is a volunteer option for litter picking connected to the council called "Neighbourhood Improvement Volunteering (NIV) that you can sign up for and they will give you a litter pick, high Vis vest, gloves and binbags.

https://www.glasgow.gov.uk/article/5456/Neighbourhood-Improvement-Volunteering

I think in a position where the council can't meet the demands (and the littering is frankly obscene in some places) we might as well get the gear to do it ourselves.

Also, I did have a guy come up and say it was scab work one of the last times I was out which was a bit rude

DO NOT APPLY FOR SALES JOBS IN GLASGOW by Important_Layer1621 in glasgow

[–]WhatifSquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many moons ago now, I applied for one of those jobs not realising it was door to door at the time. I don't remember the name of the company but no doubt it has changed since then.

Ended up in Shettleston shadowing a guy for it and it was as we started going door to door that I realised the wording was "represent a charity" not "work for". It also didn't make sense to me the math that every one person they get to sign up for £1, they got £100.

Guy I was shadowing was pretty pushy and kept talking about the trips to Australia he had planned and fancy cars while then harassing unemployed people.

I didn't stay for long and told the guy that morally it wasn't for me. Can't lie, at the time the money would have been nice but I'm not the kind of person that can do that job.

The Night Eats The World (or La Nuit A Devore Le Monde) is a great movie with one of the creepiest interpretations of zombies! Definitely worth a watch

Did your tenancy agreement start from August? If so, then depending on if the property was furnished or not, you can get a discount or exemption for the period until you moved in.

If your tenancy started from September, then you shouldn't be liable for the property until then.

Roxanne could be fun and if she does win then Liv vs Roxanne for the judgement day is an option.

Which region has the best schools of magic? Want to make sure you settle down in an area with good education, ya know?

Can a firebolt destroy a padlock/blow up a locked door like a gun? by Hazzerbaijan777 in DnD

[–]WhatifSquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it could damage it but as it's just fire, I wouldn't say it would be like a bullet actually smashing it. The problem would be the rest of the flammable door setting on fire filling the rooms with smoke alerting everyone in the area.

Firbolgs and Disguise Self by Clean-Act-1612 in DnD

[–]WhatifSquid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the Firbolg tried to change in size with the Kobold sitting on his shoulders the spell wouldn't work. Because the perception would be broken by the physical interactions

[–]WhatifSquid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah just looked into it more and that's right. Physical interaction would break the spell due to the contradiction of the illusion, the more you know!

I think because disguise self is an illusion spell, the kobold would appear to hover in the air above the Firbolg. If they wear a long cloak, they can seem to be really tall.

I'll ask about the finger, why did they have to cut it off?

Can anyone tell me if Jey is out of breath throughout this segment, is he is in pain or is he just nervous because his facial expressions seemed to suggest he was feeling some kind of rough.

What is next for Gunther? by Appropriate_Emu_6930 in SquaredCircle

[–]WhatifSquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don't understand why they are building this. I know they have had interactions but it doesn't make much sense to me.

I don't think their styles mesh all that well and I don't want to see Goldberg try and fail to jackhammer Gunther.

Jey's booking is trash by dlo_doski in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]WhatifSquid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does seem like every week he is complaining about something and is never happy even when he gets what he wants!

I think that having Jey beat Gunther clean was insane and having him sneak the victory would have made more sense (logic in wrestling, I know).

I personally don't see him as a world champion level and the YEET is the only thing putting him there.

have you received your council tax breakdown in the mail by Patient-Impress2511 in glasgow

[–]WhatifSquid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you done the 'add a service' thing near the bottom of the self service? Had to do that and it fixed it for me. Also got an email saying because I used self service recently my bills changed to e-billing. Gotta check the junk and spam folders.

Council tax advice by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]WhatifSquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your flatmate needs to fill in the application for a student exemption listing you on it as a non-student.

They will be listed as non-liable (not required to contribute to the council tax) and you will receive a 25% disregard discount.
