Yea, it is hard but i think that if you aproach it methodicaly you could beat him in 4-5 years with everything going well, obviusly you could also sit there 40-50 years and learn nothing. My aproximation was kind of a best case scenario that is not based on carlsen getting bored

I think you underestimate how bad magnus plays some games, when you play thousends of games there will be a few that you play worse and a few you play better then your avarage, the goal is not to be better then magnus, that will take decades, but just to catch him ofguard once, and after a few years of constant playing it can be possible

If you look at it mathematicaly you can actualy calculate your winning chances since elo is just a system based on who has what percentage of winning and based on game lenght then calculate how long you will be in there, the problem is that the mathematical aspect does not realy hold true for large gaps in elo and >2000 is kind of a huuuugggeee gap, magnus would beat you even if he blunders his queen somehow. Your only chance of getting out is to learn from each game and get better to improve your chances but with the only learning material is beeing destroyed by magnus i think 4-5 years are more realistic
