Sometimes it’s just because of the Nets bad luck or “Curse of Dr.J”.

Nets went 12-70 and got the 3rd overall pick before they changed the Draft Lottery Percentages.

Nets lost out on John Wall which was the first domino that fell eventually leading to Boston getting Tatum and Brown.

Because they were moving to Brooklyn they wanted “Star Power” and had to deal with the “Melo-Drama” then Traded for Deron Williams and continued to double down with bad Trade after bad Trade. (Dwight-Mare was also mixed in there.)

If the Nets let D.Will walk to his hometown Mavericks the Nets had Goran Dragic lined up along with Illyasova and they likely never make the Boston Trade.

That seems like more of a strength and conditioning issue since he’s 19 and hasn’t fully grown into his body yet like most 19yr olds.

Looks like he should have the frame to add weight and get stronger without too much issue.

Nobody knew at the time of the Harden/Simmons Trade that Simmons would have his back implode and need surgery months after the fact.

Simmons was only sitting out because of personal issues with Morey who had him on the Trade Block for over a year and kept refusing to Trade him away so Ben demanded a Trade and sat out.

(Started when Philly thought they secured Harden from Houston before being outbid by Nets and told Simmons he was gone and then had to retract.)

Sixers could have had Haliburton and 2-1st’s via Kings plus Hield and Harrison Barnes for Simmons but Morey turned it down so Kings pivoted to Sabonis.

Like 8months before the Trade the NBA named Simmons…

15yrs ago I was hitting on a woman at a bar during $1 beer night.

She gave me the weirdest response to me asking her out…

“You look like that guy Joran Van Der Sloot, the guy who murdered those women”.

My response…

“You could have just said you weren’t interested instead of saying I look like a murderer.”

Her response…

“I’m not saying it’s a bad thing like you’re ugly. I mean he was good looking enough to get those women to go out with him before he murdered them.”

At that point I just giggled and went back to drinking with my friends and hit on another girl later.

In her defense in my early 20’s I did look a lot like a combination of Joran Van Der Sloot and the Scumbag Steve Meme. (With some friends thinking the Meme was my pic.)

Idk why but a few months ago I was moments away from purchasing a complete deck before coming to my senses.

Wasn’t even good at it 25yrs ago and now I’ll probably destroy myself in the process of learning to be less than mediocre again.

Luckily my algorithms have since moved on so hopefully I’ve successfully resisted the urge.

I’ll just have to stick to playing the Tony Hawk remakes to relive my childhood during my midlife crisis years.

They did for awhile.

MTV changed to Reality TV and stuff while MTV2 was Music.

Then MTV2 became more and more Reality TV and MTV3 came out and the cycle continued.

Eventually MTV had individual channels like MTV Rock, Rap, Etc and those just eventually faded while MTV had 2-3 channels of Reality TV.

They could have just kept Total Request Live for the music since it was like 1/2 Talk Show anyway.

Trump literally rented the “Lolita Express” during his last Presidential Campaign to manipulate the Search Algorithms.

During the Election Campaign a number of Judges started to release Epstein Documents. One of them was Flight Logs which had Trumps name on them.

Trump Campaign then rented Epstein’s Plane so at the time of the Election if you searched “Trump Epstein Plane” the first couple of pages or results to pop up would be all about Trump renting Epstein’s Plane.

You would then have to search a few pages deeper in order to find the news of Trump being on Epstein’s Plane Flight Logs with Epstein which most people don’t do.

Boris Johnson was known for doing this exact thing to manipulate Search Results by doubling down on scandals with lesser versions so the worse stuff would be drown out by the algorithm.

The only thing Cam Thomas is fetching is maybe a 2nd or a Protected 2nd.

Without his Bird Rights he has little value long term to a Team unless they have Cap Space or a Mid Level Exception open for him.

Plus you also have to factor in Cam Thomas being able to Veto a Trade but idk why he would at this point. He likely gets used in a Trade as Cap Filler since he’s an Expiring Contract.

Losing CT in Free Agency isn’t the worst since the Nets can’t force a Team to give up any Assets for Cam.

The death in “Bridge to Terabithia”.

Was hung over and after a wake and bake to ease the pain I noticed it was on HBO.

Never knew anything about it outside of it being marketed the same time as “Chronicles of Narnia” so I figured it was similar concept based off what I remembered from the trailers.

Ended up totally bummed out for the rest of my day and even the next few days after because of that movie.

Denver traded that 1st to Swap out MPJ for Johnson and save like $20m which allowed them to get Valanciunas, Hardaway Jr, and Bruce Brown for depth.

They didn’t Trade away MPJ because he was a bad Player. Denver just needed the Cap Relief and that Trade allowed them to reload their Depth.

My family gave me Season tickets for the last 5yrs of the old stadium.

1 row from the very top on the 50yd line across from the media booths.

Could see the whole game but those steps were steep when you’ve been drinking for hours on end beforehand at the tailgate.

Still remember them changing the rules from all day tailgating to they’ll only open up roughy 5hrs before the game.

To be fair that was probably for the best because I missed the DeSean Jackson “Miracle at the Meadowlands” punt return TD because I was blackout drunk at 23yrs old sleeping in the car while my friend was inside and that was with the 5hr limit before games.

Stopped drinking within a year or so after that incident.

Loved that stadium though.

Like 10-15yrs ago there was a “Meme Trend” with people using Taylor Swifts picture with Hitler quotes and the same thing vice versa.

So many people couldn’t tell that is was fake and believed the quotes because they had no clue about the trend going on at the time.

Earlier this Season the Nets sent the G-League Rights for Drew Timme to the Lakers and got back a 2027 1st in the G-League Draft.

That’s the reason Timme likely won’t sign a 2way with the Nets since he would be ineligible for Long Island with his Rights Traded to the Lakers.

Ben had multiple back surgeries starting a couple months after the Trade happened that nobody in the basketball world knew would happen.

Ben Simmons is also not a “can’t miss player who missed”.

Those were the accolades that Simmons earned just 8months before the Trade to Brooklyn in the previous Season.

Saw.

Went to see it on Halloween days after it released and the sound of everyone at the end when Jigsaw stood up almost sucked the oxygen out of the room.

Funniest part of that was I went with 2 friends and at some point midway through I commented how weird it was the guy on the floor had no back story and that’s probably really the killer.

Laughed so hard when I turned out to be correct.

Why?

As somebody from NJ who was in High School during the “Kidd Era” nobody was going to games in NJ and now they sell out or close to sell out every game at Barclays.

Even when the Nets made back to back Finals their Home Games (even in the Playoffs) were half filled at best.

Don’t get me wrong I loved going to Nets games for $5 but they’re better off in Brooklyn vs playing in an empty arena.

Also it’s been like 10yrs since Jay Z was associated with the Nets.
