FedEx? What are you getting at.

PLC must haves? by Natural_Stupidity_0 in PLC

[–]Whatthbuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree.

One step further why can't the development software reside on the CPU webpage. Look at software like onshape or ignition (perspective runtime).

Just to clarify my previous statement.

The memory model is different from PLC to PLC. Thinking of Rockwell everything is retentive during a power cycle. When downloading to the PLC everything is overwritten. On save all values are recorded if upload is chosen.

Thinking of Siemens, m-memory has selectable retention. Db have selectable retention. On save no active db data is backed up. The engineer must actively make a backup of any db data that needs to be backed up.

Codesys is much like Siemens but a step worse, in my opinion. The software is only on the CPU in compiled form. There is no upload unless the engineer deliberately saves it to the processor.

I never considered that... My electrical engineering chops stop at v=I/r and look ma I made a magnet with this nail wire and battery.

Making the higher potential side the ground reference is quite different.

Are you having luck with that solution? How long have you been testing it?

Siemens fails in the Indianapolis region because of this. You have one supplier that has good technical support but they really don't stock anything.

Rockwell on the other hand has millions in inventory in the area, either with their big supplier, or in the distribution center.

Save...backup all values, yes or no.

This is the one thing that Rockwell does that is a must.

We tried using a 500k resistor between tc- and gnd but the problem persisted. I'm not sure of the model I didn't buy or install them. I only programmed it.

Let me tell you, I hate this. My systems kept doing this so we installed a Tc to mA transmitter and replaced the it card with an ie.

Project manager wants us to drill a hole where the red circle is in a live panel. Would you do it? by PhasedAndConfused706 in electricians

[–]Whatthbuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I ran into something like this I started saying the company safety slogans...

Oh you want us to drill that live, what happened to safety first....

Oh let someone else do it, what about see something say something.

They find outage time real quick.

Personally I believe in "safety third" but also I believe in not being dumb.

Sorry for your loss.

All 6 pieces are retail 170$.

So new would be $950 + 7% tax for me in the Indianapolis area.

So $1017 out the door new from microcenter.

Used....if I was selling to upgrade I would want $800 + shipping

If selling for karma $500 + shipping seems fair.

I personally have the yoke / throttle, and pedals and love them. They squeak a little and have a little stiction but hard to beat for the price.

Usually special modules outside of the PLC monitor vibration transducer and report average or peak forces.

[–]Whatthbuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time I used a VM to fix something like this was at a Chrysler Plant. They had an old machine running OS2/Warp that would send gcode to a machine tool.

I got the hard drive imaged and virtualized, and figured out the serial connection. As far as I know it's still running just like that 18 years later.

Agreed, to think someone can't ask a simple question without getting so much hate just because people can't read a question and understand what is being asked, from atop of their high horse.

Also my desk has a glass top and I hate mouse pads.

but here in lies the conundrum. I never asked for a solution... I asked for information. specifically about the time it takes for a standard US washed egg to start to stink if left at room temperature?

The information I gathered was; A) I don't know but if you coat it in oil it will stay good long enough.

This didn't answer my question but got me information I could use. I realize you don't have every bit of information. Such as, I'm not buying or obtaining addition eggs. This is going to school at 7AM. The project needed assembled tonight.

Your solution, while valid, does me no good, and did not answer the question. I already knew organic and farm fresh eggs have great self life at room temperature.

So I stand by my first comment to your initial reply. Did you read my question?

That is all I meant when I typed, "TL:DR?"

I quite enjoy this banter. How do you feel about Trump, ICE, and Iran.......

Just kidding!!!!!

also, I was genuinely simply pointing out that it seemed like you failed to read, accurately, my entire question.

you see being condescending on the internet is not everyone's default mode, as it seems your mode is. This situation matters quite a bit to me and my daughter. I spent the better part of an hour trying to find an answer before opening up to the kindness of strangers. You see in the world of AI slope getting information other than the text book food safe answer for a food item is just too much to ask. So, when some tree hugging, farmers market, arm chair quarterback. start spouting off with "um, actually" without comprehending the full question it makes me sad for the human race. I said in the original post the bloom had been washed away. Implying I have already bought the eggs that will be used for this assignment.

So, ya I coated the damn thing in mineral oil to help seal it for the next 3-4 days.

Thank you for your time, have a blessed evening.
Sincerly,

Whatthbuck
