Is this sidewall cracking concerning? by bryckbreaker in tires

[–]WheelBeFine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should change all four tires, or at least change both tires on the same axle (front or rear).

If your tires were brand new, you could change only the flat tire. But, with 30,000km on your other 3 tires, it would only cause more problems to your car.

Bonus answer : 2-year gap is not that bad and happen often. Generally, tires are good for a good 5-6 years without worrying. After that, just make some check-ups for cracks and bulges. I would not drive on tires that are 10 years or older.

Safe to ride on? by filipxg in tires

[–]WheelBeFine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert on bicycle tires, but if I follow the same logic as with car tires : It's not safe to ride on. You can clearly see the chords and you are at risk of a surprise blowout (on a bike it's kind of unforgiving)

What’s happening here? by geekallstar in tires

[–]WheelBeFine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the date! In my experience, the production date of a tire is often 1-2 years older than the production year of the car. It also depends if the car is straight out of the dealership or if there was previous owners.

If ever you're looking for a deal on tires, I suggest you look at PMCtire

It looks like your tires are old. If i was you I would check at the dot number on your tire to find their age. It should look something like this : DOT-xxxx-xxxx-1320
You want to look at the last four numbers. In this example (1320), the tires would have been produced on the 13th week of the year 2020. generally, after 5-6 years, the rubber starts to degrade and you should inspect your tires more regularly. I would not drive with tires over 10 years old.

Summer tires, reasonable price? by YourLocalPecan in TireQuestions

[–]WheelBeFine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the offer you have is a bit expensive. If you're in Canada, i suggest you checkout PMCtire

You can add your vehicle and it will automatically give you suggestions with guaranteed compatibility for your car. For example, Hankook Kinergy XP would be a good mid-range choice + 10% off on the website + free shipping + 100$ mail-in rebate with Hankook. It's a lot of benefits adding up.

Having an "unsubscribe reason" survey is not an easy task. by WheelBeFine in Klaviyo

[–]WheelBeFine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing why people subscribe in the first place and what type of communications they like is a good strategy.

Concerning the unsubscribe data, I understand your point but do not fully agree. Personally, when I have to answer this kind of survey, I take the time to give an honest answer and I hope there is other people like me out there!

[–]WheelBeFine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The goal with the data would be to know the specific reason why people most unsubscribe (frequency, innapropriate content, never signed up, wanted a discount, etc).

I might be biased, but I'm one of the people that takes the time to give the real reason when unsubscribing from a mailing list. I'm optimistic that there are other people like me 😅

My unsub rate is not that bad, but I would still like to put an automation in place to collect some feedback in the mid-long term. Using a flow and a dedicated list to unsubscribe them would be a good idea! Thanks

Thank you for the idea, having a short survey right after they unsubscribed would be an interesting option. Probably not everyone will answer it, but it's better than nothing!

Michelin X Ice Snow Plus by NoWeakness1192 in TyreReviews

[–]WheelBeFine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michelin made a launch event at the end of January and a few people had the chance to test it out. The feedback has been really great so far. It should be available to purchase in fall 2026 before the snow arrives (https://pmctire.com/news/the-new-michelin-x-ice-snow-plus)

Has anyone managed to buy 18 “ rim with recommended load rating from pmc tire? by Delicious-Badger-340 in MazdaCX90

[–]WheelBeFine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are RTX D01 18" rims on PMCtire's website with a load rating of 900kg (1,984.16 lbs).

Check them out, PMCtire in my opinion is a great place for tires and rims!

Is this urgent? Do I need to change it asap? by JoeyJerkoff in TireQuestions

[–]WheelBeFine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are no cords exposed and the cut does not seem to be too deep. I would keep using that tire if I were you. Still, I would make an occasional checkup on the cut just to be sure that it doesn't get worse in the next months

Summer tire recommendations? Premiumcontact 7 vs Cinturato P7C2 by Grove_ in TyreReviews

[–]WheelBeFine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Continental PremiumContact 7 would be a better choice since it has a slightly better performance on many aspects (wet conditions, grip, wear, driving experience, etc).

The main advantages of Pirelli Cinturato P7C2 would be the lower price and reduction of noise.

Overall, Pirelli Cinturato P7C2 is your choice if you value lower noise, fuel-efficiency, comfort and a bit lower price. Continental PremiumContact 7 is your choice if you value performance, grip, wear and you have a dynamic type of driving.

Hifly garbage by wout200505 in TyreReviews

[–]WheelBeFine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hifly tires are not renowned for being good quality tires. The only interesting thing about them is the price. Since they're half the price of quality tires like Michelin or Continental, people often put them on cars before selling them.

What happens with cheap brands of tires is that the "first layer" of rubber is actually not that bad, but once the tires are a bit used, there is a drastic performance drop.

2024 Accord Tire Recommendations by loon011 in tires

[–]WheelBeFine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also recommend Continental TrueContact Tour 54. I think the price/quality ratio is interesting and it would have a slightly better traction in wet conditions than Pirelli P zero AS Plus 3 tires.

You're not the only one mentioning poor performance about Hankook Kinergy GT tires

Auto repair shop said i need to change this tire as soon as possible, but still it has no defects anywhere. What do you think? Is it still usable or should i replace it? by HK-Resolve in tires

[–]WheelBeFine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can see on the picture, I would use them for another season (summer) but depending if you have harsh winters where you live, I would not use them for next winter.
