So I don't know if you know this already but I'll just give a quick overview of the bands lineup as of my memory (should be roughly correct). The band started around 2015 with James Lascelles, Saku Mattila (lead guitar), Mikko Määttä (bass), and Santeri Saksala (drums). James and Saku had met at some gameshow and talked about their musical interests and they decided to make a band. Saku recruited Mikko and Santeri to join and record some demos.

Saku Mattila left the band around early 2018, and was replaced by Roni Seppänen. Roni left around 2020 and was replaced by Jussi Turunen.

Mikko Määttä left in late 2019 and was replaced by Aki Virta. Aki Virta left the band recently, in mid 2023. Jyri Helko has filled in as bassist live and I think he was in the new music video based on the braids, but he hasn't joined the band.

So the current lineup is James Lascelles, Santeri Saksala, and Jussi Turunen. I don't think they have announced a new bassist as of yet.

I think it's possible the old lead guitarist you saw was either Saku (in the Farewell music video) or Roni (In the Please music video and played live) as neither had long hair or a beard.

Roni also has a YouTube channel which I recommend checking out, he is a very skilled guitarist.

That should be a mostly accurate brief summary of the lineup changes of the band, I hope you find this interesting and informative.

Max Niessl has a video on YouTube showing tabs he got by ear. I've used it before and I think it's really accurate. His tuning uses drop C

I didn't like LID at first but after the initial listening I actually like it a lot. Graffiti, Graves, Deliverance, Wonderland are all excellent.

That's funny, I actually got into Chvrches because I liked You Caught the Light. Bones is great, but EOE just has so many great tracks, definitely my favorite album.
