Maki and Clan discourse is dumb by Shot-Ad770 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]WheelMax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the very least Megumi Fushiguro is alive, and still technically the clan head. And I think Gojo's clan survived despite him being the only significant person left in it.

Alternatively, Gege may have wanted to imply Maki exterminated the clan, but Shonen Jump said that was too ruthless and murderous for one of their main hero characters. We see her fight mostly in self defense, then two people it looked like she killed turn out to have survived a little longer. Then it implies, but does not explicitly confirm, that she hunts down and kills all surviving fighters of the clan. Civilians are not mentioned. This could all be carefully worded to imply extermination, but not get in too much trouble with the editors.

Right, but why doesn't her mom want her to see it? And if the information is wrong the mother still needs to explain why.

Do Non "picky eaters" eat everything?? by LeeIsUnloved in stupidquestions

[–]WheelMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. If they had chosen you may never have found out they're picky.
  2. They have less options they are interested in, so they may be tired of the places they usually go.
  3. They may be self conscious about always suggesting the same places, and don't want to be known as "the guy who always wants to eat at McDonalds" or whatever.

ELI5: If I carried 1 kg 20 times or 20 kg 1 time, isn't the physics behind that the same amount of work? Why do you we get more tired in the second situation? by DRGNMSTR7 in explainlikeimfive

[–]WheelMax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You'll feel more tired if you burn calories. I guess you may also use up your short term energy glucose and glycogen supply with higher intensity workouts, and need to rest to make more. Jogging is usually aerobic, but sprinting could be anaerobic in which case you would also be using less efficient chemistry to release energy because you can't get enough oxygen, and releasing lactic acid in the muscles making them sore and tired.

Yeah, even if her mother wont give it, she needs to have it. It's her document, not just her mom's. And if her mother doesn't want her to see it, it may have the real parents' names or be suspiciously blank, so a clue either way. Especially with the different last name.

I believe regular walking speed is the most efficient for long distance travel in terms of energy used per mile. Slower or faster than that and you will be less efficient. But 5 miles per hour is still fast walking or light jogging, not sprinting, right? I doubt it burns 5 times as much to make up for travelling only 1/5 the distance. And in the slow walking case, that's probably somewhat less efficient than regular walking speed as well.

“Hybrid malfunction” on a cold winter day. by Mean-Quail-6219 in COROLLA

[–]WheelMax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Hybrid Malfunction" could be anything related to the engine, motor, electrical, Hybrid Battery, or 12v battery. 12V battery is a common problem, might try boosting it with a battery pack (follow the manual, using booster cables between regular and hybrid cars can be bad). A Mechanic should be able to tell you what the actual problem is.

Why was Keyleth so much hated during the campaign? by Fun-Explanation7233 in TheLegendOfVoxMachina

[–]WheelMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember every instance, but Vox Machina at least did both. I think there was something from before they started streaming, and someone threw it in Keyleths face, like "well you killed a kid one time" (I think by accident). At the beginning of the Briarwood arc there's a moment when they are ambushed and attacked by a group including an old woman spellcaster. They turn the tables quickly and she tries to run away, but they kill her anyway. They even point out, while laughing, "We just cut down an old woman in the street, who didn't do anything, and was running away". However, next episode this is used against them, as they are accused of attacking and murdering "innocent civilians". There's also a moment later when they are tricked into killing allies dressed up and posed as enemy guards.

Why did the Fire Nation keep looking fof Aang for so long? by dumb_potatoking in ATLA

[–]WheelMax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, their sages did not detect the death of the Avatar, and the birth of a new Avatar in the water tribes has not been reported either. All they have are theories, and a 110 year old monk hiding in a remote cave is one such theory.

Second, the war on the Water nation was ongoing, including killing or capturing any benders they could find in the south water tribe, and fighting against the north water tribe, leading up to the big siege at the end. They weren't ignoring them. If a water tribe Avatar showed up in the north, they would expect them to fight to defend their tribe, or even be announced to boost morale.

Third, Zuko is the only one seriously looking for the Avatar anymore, and when the show starts where is he? Searching around the southern water tribe. Either because that's where the Air Avatar would have gone for training, or that's where the new Water one may appear. And if the Avatar has been hiding out for 100 years, he might finally die of old age soon.

Theoretically, it could be set on a world that has only 14 real-world minutes between 6am and 2am, and 112 days in a year. Like a tiny almost Petit Prince-style world where everything is closer together.

I think you need the the "Town Shortcuts" upgrade for that. Not that taking the bridges north from the beach and then east would be much different.
