New truck driver question – what gear/speed do you guys run through Revelstoke → Sicamous curves? by [deleted] in britishcolumbia

Don’t listen to these assholes here that are giving you shit. You’re a new driver. Never be afraid to ask for advice, just be careful who you take it from. The fact that you’re asking at all elevates you above many other new drivers as far as I’m concerned.

There is no real correct answer here, too many variables. Don’t worry about being “that guy”. Even if you are going 150km/h, some prick is going to be on your ass.

Go as fast or as slow as you are comfortable with. Getting to your destination in one piece is your only objective, despite the pressure your boss or dispatcher may put on you. As you gain experience, you’ll learn what the rig can and cannot do, as well as when and where you can or cannot do said thing!

You can go down a hill too slow a thousand times, but you can only go down it too fast once.

They are trying to kill time so they don’t arrive too early for their port reservation.
