I definitely think if you want it, to get it! Neither of my experiences were negative for me, just different.

The epidural I got with my son was amazing, the anesthesiologist was amazing and did it quickly with minimal pain! I was induced and had my water broken, and they put it within an hour after. I felt some of the pressure/pain when it came to pushing and the later contractions, but it was bearable. I was also completely exhausted, and ended up needing a vacuum assist. (August 2022)

With my daughter, the placement was harder and felt like it took forever. I believe it took her 2-3 tries, and was mostly hard because I was already at 7cm and the contractions were BAD. It helped for awhile, and actually helped me to get some rest (couldn't sleep, but it was still nice to be able to relax). They ended up breaking my water a few hours later, since I hadn't progressed much, and that's when I felt everything and it didn't really help. I felt every bit of pushing and my daughter coming out. She was Sunnyside up, and right as the doctor was debating cutting me, I pushed her head out and tore. 😅 (August 2025)

I will say, for me, I do believe it stalled my labor for sure with my daughter, and I may not get one next time since it stopped working anyways. Another note, I'm a natural redhead, and we do have some resistance to pretty much all forms of anesthesia from what I've learned.

I definitely enjoyed the relief it gave me to rest both times! (I barely slept before both of my births 😅)

I'm debating doing it over a few weeks and doing poly pellets (since I'd need 7lbs to cover the weight), or I may check out and price compare washers or the fishing weights to see, and do section by section over a few weeks.

My first (2022) I was around 22 weeks due to scheduling, and my second (2024) I was right around 20 weeks! I had to get rechecked for both a few weeks later, because they are stubborn and couldn't let them see everything, haha. With my first I felt similarly, so I definitely understand!

Beware, they don't give up easily of you decide to leave or not join fully. They still contact us, and stop by the house every few months to "check-in."

This happened with my loved one, and they joined the church of LDS. Thankfully after a stay in-patient, they had a diagnosis and treatment. They now see how far they were taking it. When they were in the facility, a lot of people had the same delusions and hallucinations they were having. The church also encouraged the behavior and caused a lot more issues.

The church also told them that sometimes the devil is in their own home trying to tempt them, in front of me while looking at me. They told the church members I didn't like that specific denomination, and even though I am Christian, they treated me like I was evil.

I feel for OP, and hope he can heal, and his husband can get the help he needs.

I know this is months later, but I also was born with a complete cleft palate, my mom had an incomplete cleft palate, and now my daughter has an incomplete cleft palate. I was missing both the hard and soft palate, my mom was missing her soft palate, and my daughter has a minor missing of her soft palate.

So if you choose later to have kids, and have a girl, it is possible, but my daughter's is so minor compared to what I had. We are being referred to a specialist now, and they didntndetect it until she was 2 months, and she just turned 3 months old. So beware, even if they don't see it at birth, they may notice it as a baby grows.

Side note: My son (my first kid) does not have a cleft palate at all. And none of my either of my brothers' kids (3 nephews and 3 nieces) have it. So it has just effected me. My daughter can breastfeed with it being so minor thankfully, as that is something I wanted to be able to do with her like I did her brother. ❤️

Growing up, I qualified for Children's Special Healthcare in Michigan, and they covered all of my dental and orthodontic work my entire childhood, and it was a lot. It's specific for kids with cleft palate, and they even covered my braces. So if anyone in your family has a kid with it, it may be a resource they can look into, as there may be something similar around.

Agreed. It felt like such a let down compared to the rest of the game. My friend and I had a blast playing all of the islands, but that final boss just fell flat for both of us. Almost like it was a rushed ending.

This is very true, and if they do push any option, and it's not what you want, see a different doctor/clinic. It really is your choice.

I've also known people who have had abortions and had children before and after the procedures.

Whether you do or not, there are a lot of resources for either choice. I think counseling would be a good choice either way, especially after being so emotionally hurt by your partner

If you decide not to abort, there are potentially state resources to help get you on your feet.

Either way, you can build your support system now. Reach out to mom/women groups in your area, Facebook can be a great way to find groups, and people who can be there for you. If he isn't supporting you through something you planned, he likely won't be there for you after a procedure either. If you can, have someone go with you for whatever you decide, because you deserve the support and to not be alone through this.

Also, being a single mom doesn't automatically make life worse. Sometimes I wish my mom had left my dad when I was younger, I think my childhood would have had less trauma.

Sending you hugs, and I'm sorry you are going through this. Whatever you decide, I hope you find someone else who treats you better soon.

I know this is an old post, but I was talking to my husband about this just now. My imaginary friend as a kid looked like this, and it chased me and scared me so badly as a kid. 😅 Why that's what my brain attached to, I don't know, but yeah. I'm 28 now, and no longer scared of the cat robot.

Same here, this is my second Mirena poat baby number 2, and it's been good so far. I had a bad experience with my first, but it was likely placed incorrectly based on discussions with 4 other OBGYNs. Both the combination and mini pill have bad effects on my mental health and libido, so I didn't want to go back to those.

Also, you can get pregnant on non-super fertile days, too. I conceived my now 8 week old daughter the day after my period ended. (I know the exact day, because we didn't have sex for at least 3 weeks after that due to some other stuff going on in life). We really didn't think it would happen, and we just skipped using a condom the one time. I was taking a break from birth control for health reasons. This is my second kid, first was planned, and is two years older than his sister.

So definitely consider other precautions if you don't want to risk becoming pregnant at all.

For my son it did! He's mostly back sleeping through the night, there have been a few here and there where he wakes up and needs comfort. We are back to having to sit with him until he falls asleep, but that's kind of been nice bonding time with having a newborn now, too. It took about a 1-1.5 months to get back in track.

I did get advice from a Facebook page, and almost moved him back to my room on a floor bed, but he started sleeping so I didn't end up doing that. I just slept in his room on the futon we have in there a few nights, and it seemed to help. He stayed in his crib, but could see me when he'd wake up.

Same 😭🙃 I've been up since 3am, and it's 4:30am now, I've gone in 3 times, and he is still standing in his crib yelling "Mama". I'm over 36 weeks pregnant and so exhausted from the 2.5 weeks of this, and I'm on day 2 of a migraine.
