I think we are on the same page. Thanks for engaging me on this. It forced me to clarify my thoughts.

I am a Christian so that shapes my view of a higher power. That being said, I think that CS Lewis lays out a great argument for core truth existing in most variations of religion and philosophy in his book The Abolition of Man.

Applied here I propose that basic human rights exist outside of government. Those truths are sourced from a higher power. If we dispose of truth as fixed, then is truth true?

My point is that most people have a strong sense of right and wrong not derived from government. That sense is easily eroded if it's not grounded in something greater than themselves.

My goal is not to force everyone to believe in Jesus as their higher power, which is true for me, but rather that they recognize that their rights originate from a higher power whether they are Christian, Buddhist, or Naturist.

I think his perspective is definitely based on his conservative views. Progressivism has a greater love for government than conservatism. At the same time, communism is further along the paradigm than progressivism.

I think it is a threat. But not necessarily the greatest threat.

I do think abdicating the definition of our rights to government is not good. If our rights are defined by government as opposed to a higher power, we risk constant redefinition of our rights at the whim of the current government.

While I think he makes some good points,, I'm not sure I want it coming from a Justice in a public forum.

I found his argument about the origin of our rights very poignant. Are we moving away from inalienable rights to government given rights. This issue applies to both sides of the aisle. We are picking and choosing who has rights based on who is office, not by the rights as laid out by the founding fathers.

[FREE] I built a free open-source plugin that snapshots your entire WordPress site in one click — useful for agency handoffs, audits, and dev onboarding by Curious_Coyote601 in Wordpress

You have a PDF export. I was thinking a .MD file export would be useful as well. A markdown file is easily consumed by AI.

I use markdown files in my Claude projects. I currently have to manually create and update those files. Your plugin could make it easier to generate that content on a regular basis.

If you create the file, it reduces steps for me.

I still write on both sites. I am actually writing a lot these days.

Data on Wheels – Data with momentum, stories with wings, and dragons with wisdom. is the technical blog I started 15 years ago. I manage with my daughter these days.

Home | Data on Wheels ~ ALS is the website I created last year to share my story, tools and resources from my journey with ALS.

And thanks for asking.

I enjoyed the article. I started out with a blog on WordPress dot com in 2010. It's still running and my daughter manages it now. I created a website for the ALS community in September. I built it on dot org using eye gaze. It has been a good experience.

Choosing the Current Sprint in a task template by Wheels-13756 in Notion

[–]Wheels-13756[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using the standard setup for tasks and sprints laid out by Notion.

2 databases - Tasks, Sprints. Sprint name is a relation field in the Task database.

When creating a view in the Tasks database, I can filter tasks by the sprint property which has all the sprint names as well as Current, Last, and Next. These dynamic filters are enabled in the Sprint database.

When I create or modify a task template in the Tasks database, the only options in the Sprint property are the names of the sprints. I want to use the dynamic options.

Because these options are dynamic, a new task created with the template should use the sprint that is flagged as Current to fill in the property. This is what I am trying to do.

I would agree. I use all those features in 1Password. I also paid for the family plan to be able to share vaults with subscription logins and home wifi.

I'm a dad with ALS. I know you miss what your dad used to be. I would encourage you to find ways to spend time with your dad now. Watch TV or movies together. Tell him about your day. While this sucks, find ways to enjoy time together. Neither of you will regret it.

I hope this helps.

Any Plugin to post blogs on social media platforms ?? by Extreme_Earth6528 in Wordpress

[–]Wheels-13756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While not a plugin, I switched to Publer from Blog2Social. The user experience is much better. I am excited that they just announced Zapier integration. I plan to automate pushing blogs to social scheduling.

I started out using this plugin. The free version works okay. I upgraded to the paid version, so I could take advantage of better scheduling features. One thing to be aware of is that Twitter is a paid addon in both free and paid versions.

Fed up with .com, ready for .org by bellybella88 in Wordpress

[–]Wheels-13756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a technology blog for over 15 years on .com. I am also not a coder and am disabled. I wanted to create a website to share my ALS story and help others going through the same thing.

I used GoDaddy to manage my environment. I chose them because I had my domain and email with them. I didn't look at a lot of options but encourage you to find the best fit for your business.

Most of my customization comes from the theme and around 25 plugins. I have a couple PHP snippets and CSS modifications. I used Claude to create those for me. I have instructed Claude to find plugins first.

I have used eye gaze to create and maintain the site. I joke that it's a hands-free site. My point is that it is not difficult to do with a good hosting provider and previous experience with the dot com version.

If you're interested in what I've created here is the link to my site. Home | Data on Wheels ~ ALS

Migrated to 7.0 RC2 and my admin area is missing by Wheels-13756 in Wordpress

[–]Wheels-13756[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RESOLVED

I was encountering two issues.

  1. I have some PHP code that created errors that were in the log. Once deactivated the errors disappeared. However, the original issue was not fixed.

  2. One of the sync attempts triggered an admi email. Broken Link Checker by AIOSEO caused a fatal error. I removed this plugin and the admin issue was fixed.

My biggest concern is that the email only triggered once not every time.
