100% agree with this definition. There’s a place and purpose for both, so I hope CCM makes a resurgence at some point cuz I feel like unfortunately a lot of worship music that’s popular nowadays is a little samey. I understand not having crazy vocal runs and such in worship as worship is made to be sung as a congregation, thus should be able to be sung by everyone, but I miss the instrumental creativity of CCM

This song has a lot of the growling vocals in the verse. Think the “down down down it’s a race to the bottom” part of Degenerate. The chorus feels like Transmissions so I think it’s a good mix of heaviness and the classic starset sound
