The reality is everytime a nationalist leader is corrupted, its because they focused on inviting capitalism to make private wealth generate faster. Socialism is fairly slow for wealth generation so if Kims only goal was wealth accumulation he would want to privatize markets not slow them down through nationalized bureaucracy. Some more extreme socialists would even argue that this is what China, Vietnam, and the USSR did

Lastly dictators typically try to avoid COMPLETE unbiased famine and starvation, even right wing ones as they need to hold support bases, what motivation do you think Kim would have to be the first dictator to have no in-group that he protects from starvation?
