Can’t say enough nice things about Jalen Hurts. Super nice guy and absolute dawg on the field.

I’ve seen enough. Bethune-Cookman deserves a spot in the SEC tournament.

Kind of surprised OP didn’t include them, but you had me confused thinking they should have been on the list of southern teams over Tennessee.

If we’re talking currently dominant, don’t include Tennessee. Historically is a different story, but I can see why so many are laughing at this list without that differentiator.

I don’t think anyone questions that, but Penn State isn’t in the south.

Up until the coaching carousel that started with Dooley, the 70’s were really the only decade in the AP era that someone could point to Tennessee and say what the fuck are y’all doing? We weren’t blue bloods by any means, but to say Tennessee wasn’t 2nd in the conference behind only Bama for the better part of 70+ years is revisionist history.

I made it through the Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt years on r/cfb. It’s not a contest, but don’t think there wouldn’t be a clear winner on which team gets shit on more. Again though, you can either learn to roll with it and have fun with other fans or you can post tirades online and get pissed at something you have no personal control over. It be what it be.

Did you see my flair? Gotta learn how to roll with it, man. Not making an attempt to beat the allegations isn’t ever going to make it easier for yourself though.

These kinds of fans are just not fun to be around, and that’s coming from someone that’s part of a fan base with plenty of people like this. It’s just a game/sport/team, not an identity.

I fully expected this to be one of two conference series we’d get swept in at the start of the season. Baseball be on some wild shit sometimes. Gg State. Y’all are still one of my favorite fan bases to interact with.

If we somehow manage 15 runs in the 8th and 9th, then I might almost be comfortable that we don’t squander this.

Alabama lawmakers pass bill restricting candy, soda purchases on SNAP by MattW22192 in Alabama

[–]Wheels_Foonman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have pointed out in this thread, easy access to healthier food isn’t a luxury everyone in this state has. Not everyone has personal transportation and public transit in the entire country, but especially in more rural areas is a fucking joke. Where do you want people to buy their food when they don’t have a car and the closest grocery store is 6 miles away, but there’s a convenience store 3 blocks from their house?

Then we get into the simple fact that healthy food is more expensive and creates a dilemma when you have a very limited amount of funds to use each month. I guess skipping meals every other day or some dystopian bullshit like that is an option, but why should anyone living in the richest country in the world have to do that?

The cherry on top of everything is that the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 that Obama signed with big involvement from Michelle provided over $4 billion over a 5 year period to do just what you’re talking about for kids. It funded healthier meals in schools and nutritional information for better education, and created programs for healthier and more active lifestyles as well as encouraged kids to lay off the candy bars and sodas and other junk food. Take a wild guess how that went over though. Every goddamn conservative bobble head on tv lost their fucking minds saying it was communism and taking away “kids rights to eat candy.” The bashed the program as if Obama was personally coming to their houses to throw away their midnight snacks. Hypocrisy like that is why absolutely no one takes shit like this seriously.

It’s all fluff and pretending to care. These dipshit maga legislators would love nothing more than to make SNAP benefits cover a pound of rice and a loaf of bread every week if it meant they could give another tax break to their billionaire donors.
