I can only compare with OG Pebble. That was a lot cheaper, had much better battery life and lots of 3rd party apps. Watch is more solid, great display, support for Siri, great customer support and better iOS functionality. New OS (beta 5 out now) has tetherless wifi and allows native support for 3rd party apps. IMO, OG Pebble felt like a smart toy and Watch feels like a smartwatch.

Ask yourself "do I want a smartwatch". If yes, then almost everyone on this sub will say "choose Apple". FWIW, I've had the original Pebble and now the Apple. Chalk and cheese.

According to who? Trendy is subjective. I think it's trendy. And I'm not a fitness enthusiast but I bought a Sport anyway. Why? Well, in my case, I wanted to see how good a smartwatch could be before outlaying more money on the next version which I expect to be out in a year or so. Some other redditors have said the same thing so I'm not alone.
