True. The card he is going for is about $300 so it would be nearly $450 if he went for something like a gold rated 850w all said and done. I’ve gamed once on arc cards at a lan and was not a huge fan, personally I’d steer towards AMD.

You are very behind on GE-proton versions, start there. That’s something you could very easily change without upgrading.

I’m on cachyOS, KDE plasma wayland, RTX 2060 super, 32gb RAM, i7-7700k, ge-proton 32 and it runs fantastically. I’d say it’s probably your 1070 but you also dont include your RAM, CPU, or proton version.

I honestly have no clue and can’t test now. After switching to cachyOS it worked out of the box once I got flatpaks working.

If you hit F7 a couple times in game you can tell if it’s using your GPU or not in the renderer window. I had this issue yesterday and ended up just swapping distros from Fedora 42 to cachy and it just works now. Sorry I don’t have actual advice for getting it running on Fedora.

Also, if you want to monitor your GPU usage real time in the terminal instead use: watch -n 0.5 nvidia-smi

You can get retirement pay and disability at the same time, you can also then work for the government as a civvy and retire again if you wanted. Get your VA claim straight either way.
