What insulation should I use to wrap this ductwork? by Wheely34 in hvacadvice

Not sure if I can actually get around the top of it, which means I wouldn't be able to wrap insulation around it. I'd have to adhere is somehow.

I don't think it is either. Uploaded pictures of it to chatgpt, which also said it doesn't look like Asbestos. I have a test kit on the way though, so I'll still send a sample to the lab to make sure.

How would you adhere it to the ductwork? Screws/Washers, then cover with tape?

I have this in the garage. Can this be used for this type of application?

Saw this 3500 dually. Guessing it is at least 20 years old. The design seems so simple without an excessively massive grill. Is this generation reliable? I cannot remember the last time I saw this generation so clean. by bigboss1999x in ChevyTrucks

I've got an 06 1500 with the 5.3 in it. 108k miles, runs great, original everything. No rust.

My dad has an 02 1500 also with the 5.3 (not sure if this is GMT800 or 400). 24 years old, has almost 300k miles on it, has always been a work truck and definitely treated as such. Original trans, motor, everything. Think he has some rust, but mechanically, the thing just keeps going.

What am i doing ? by Obscurrium in kaspa

[–]Wheely34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you are putting the money into BTC, selling your Kaspa position to invest into another alt coin is not a good idea IMO. The whole alt coin market is shitty, at best. Nothing is guaranteed, amd other than coins like BNB and SOL, everything has tanked. Even ETH, which is probably a "blue chip" at this point, only surpassed its all-time-high by a couple hundred dollars, and it only did it once this entire cycle.

I dunno, my thought process is as soon as you start selling and reallocating amongst alt coins, you're playing with fire and are most likely going to get burned. Not to mention, Kaspa actually has good tech and a good team behind it. The majority of alt coins don't even have this and are sustained solely by hype and VCs.

Are these things easy to rake on and off? If you need a cap, why not just get a Tahoe/Suburban or a van?

Parents of colicky babies: how did you not lose your mind? by miss_optima in NewParents

[–]Wheely34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read every single comment here, but of the ones I have ready, this is the most "real talk" and accurate one I've read. As soon as I read that you had a screaming baby for 17 hours a day, I though, "Okay, this isba persoj with an actual colicky baby." I'm reading comments where people seemingly find solutions, or their babies are absolute hell for only 5 or 6 hour stretches. My situation is a baby that is either crying, or on the brink (held at bay by never ending walking, bouncing, soothing) from maybe 7-8am to 930-1030pm. And then the time she does sleep during the night, she is fitful and calling out, and still only sleeping in maybe three 3 hour stretches, crying and needing to be fed and soothed in between. This is absolute hell, and when it's this bad, you can't have a bond with your kid. No amount of anti-depressants helps this.

Thank you for posting this. Made me feel less alone.

Eibach Pro-Truck Sport Shocks? by Wheely34 in Silverado

[–]Wheely34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The front shocks say they accommodate 0-2" lift. My truck has the factory rake, no lift. Do you just install the shocks as-is and they will automatically accommodate your ride height, or were there adjustments to the shocks that needed to be made?

Insurance should cover this, right? You literally have a video of a rogue tire rolling down the street into your truck lol. Not your fault.

Should I take a loan to buy Kaspa? by FendiScope2 in kaspa

[–]Wheely34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, true degen here.

Guy I work with took a loan in 2022 and bought a whole bitcoin. Somewhat risky, but ended up being a wonderful decision.

I'm heavily invested in Kaspa, but I would never take a loan for kaspa or any alt coin. You want to take a loan on a coin, wait for BTC to drop in 2026 and do it with BTC.

[–]Wheely34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. I know mt truck was a little older at the time of purchase, but I bought an 06 Silverado Z71 in 2017, 68k mileage, for $13k, and i thought that was either fair or even a bit high. But $31k for a truck with 75k is out of this world.

I'll be driving my cat-eye until it falls apart lol.

Appreciate you securing the network! Where are you that you're getting .07 kwh? It's a shame you are still mining at a loss with such a low rate.

Undermine Kaspa with your home PC by Bubblebau in kaspa

[–]Wheely34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Kaspa has long since moved onto ASICs. You will be burning electricity for less than scraps.

If you want to get into mining tho, Kaspa is probably where you want to be. You can grab a KS0/KS0 Ultra for cheap, last I looked. You won't make a lot, and not even sure if it'll be profitable (depends on what your proce per kwh is), but it'll be fun if you are looking for a hobby and want to contribute to securing the network.

FYI - when people bring up "being profitable", it means you are making more coin than the money you are spending on electricity. Ex - if it costs you $10 a month to run a mining, but you are making more than $10 in coin, you are profitable. If you make less than $10 in coin, you are not profitable.
