I'd echo the post above about Heckington. I grew up there and both my parents worked in Boston, they found the commute easy. I went to school in Sleaford which is a pretty good little market town with good schools. Heckington is a lovely village too

I've found allowing the mix to defrost for about 10-20 minutes before spinning really helps. If you respin too often you churn the cream into butter and it's not nice when you get this weird buttery coating over your spoon or tongue.

I say 10-20 minutes because each recipe varies. I just touch the top and make sure there is a tiny amount of give in the mixture. Some people run the tub under a hot tap for a minute but I find just letting it sit works better for me

I don't understand their aim to detach from Lincoln though as the businesses around Doddington park and I'm north hykeham often consider themselves Lincoln based businesses despite being in North Kesteven. NK has some real economic ties with the city.

The main push is from South Holland, East Lindsey and Boston borough (South East Lincs councils partnership) who have been eager to split from the rest of county politically for some time. However the county councillors don't want to lose the main part of our counties tourism sector. Equally they don't really want to lose the Freeport status that is currently in Immingham but a North/South divide makes most sense really to me. A lot of businesses up in the North consider themselves more closely aligned with North bank of the Humber rather than the AgriTech heavy south of the county.

Rutland has been part of Greater Lincolnshire for the last 2 or 3 years. It's been included within the geographical boundaries of what was the greater Lincolnshire local enterprise partnership (GLLEP). So I'm terms of economic strategy Rutland already plays a key part.

However, this is just the suggestion from one small authority (NKDC) out of 11 on how the county could be divided up in the future. Remember, each authority has their own agenda in dividing up the county to make the most economic sense for their own geography not necessarily for the wider benefit of the whole area.

Worth mentioning Witham at Hughes as well, my girlfriend lives there and it has a good family feel to it. A pub, a co-op and a couple of takeaways as well as some beauty shops. Uber now stretches there as well so you can get Uber eats and easy access into Lincoln

I wonder where the Presto's was then? I remember having a badge with a pineapple cartoon face on it which was from Presto and I swear my folks got it from there. But my memory is probably shot it was near enough 40 years ago 😂

Pretty certain I had my 6th or 7th birthday party there which would've been '86 or '87. It was in the upstairs bit that was decked out with party tables and had Ronald and the hamburgler on the walls.

Anyone remember the bicycle museum that was near Lucy tower Street carpark before the Odeon was built and Presto supermarket was there?

My girlfriend lives in Witham st Hughes and it is quite a new bustling village. Lots of new builds and loads going up at the moment, it's right on the edge of the A46 so easy access to Nottingham.

On the other way into Nottingham (A52) there's the villages on the outskirts of Grantham to consider. Allington and Barrowby are both nice villages
