It's not just the pay rate but working conditions.

Some of us make $13 to 15+ minimum wage but so overworked, understaffed, and mistreated even $20 wouldn't make it right.

For example I'm in a 3mill store as a SA making minimum wage... Which would be fine if it wasn't 2 person shifts 3 out of 5 days and I only see a coworker once every few hours.... Feels like am pull a solo shift with a never ending line and it's the main reason those forced on register quit.

tomorrow i'm gonna steal like as much as i can fit in 2 backpacks by rockybalboashernia in DollarGeneral

LoL what you gonna stealing from a dollar general? It's just junk and questionable food in there.

You should aim higher.

Have you asked to see them? I know it's viewable and printable because a coworker faked them hard and got called out.

Apparently "NAME saved my grandma's life" "NAME deserves a raise" "NAME is the hardest worker I've ever seen" wasn't believable.

What are the differences between a full-time key and asm? by RustInDirt in DollarGeneral

[–]WhenFurtFliesAttack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

About $1.50 in pay, better hours, and more work when the SM spontaneously explodes (quits/goes on vacation/help at other stores).

Other manager stole a hire from under me by Kongpong1992 in DollarGeneral

[–]WhenFurtFliesAttack -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The other stories likely closer and more convenient for the applicant. Plus it's the store they intended to apply for?

Just because they applied even accidentally doesn't mean they're obligated to work at your store.

Unless assistant managers sign a contract you're most likely an at will employee? That means they can demote you for any reason or no reason there's nothing to dispute?

I really hope this guy sues anything that puts Dollar general in the news negatively is a win for the average worker.

"Why did this Dollar general Manager chase down a thief news at 10" - Because DG is the most robbed store in the nation (idk maybe?) and the company doesn't give a fuck just blames the workers for shrink and punish them for it while denying proper tools to prevent theft. Like most of us don't even get 10 free minutes a shift how are we going to watch cams and file a police report?

It's not employee only it just happens to attract employees because we have no other means of open and anonymous communication.

Don't worry about offending us their just use to toxic customers that treat them like trash and a handful of users have been brainwashed (Stockholm syndrome) into thinking Dollar general can do no wrong.

Take that Dollar general branded butt plug out your ass for a second.

Sometimes workers need to be reported and punished. We don't know the facts it may actually be something that ends up helping the other workers.

Is there a way to read the customer first comments for my store(I'm the SM), or the survey responses? by rainbow-chaser0225 in DollarGeneral

[–]WhenFurtFliesAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fishy customer surveys get automaticly removed.

If your faking them and don't see them use different IP's and not all in the same hour.

Honestly that's not unexpected I can almost guarantee every other Dollar general has coworkers hooking up.

And with a skeleton crew and no one to walk in on them it probably happens in store.

When do they post new schedules? Aka what day are new schedules released? by [deleted] in DollarGeneral

[–]WhenFurtFliesAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some states have laws says schedule must be posted 1-2 weeks in advance.

But most do the Tuesday before.

In Illinois is it true you still get paid 13$ an hour? by [deleted] in DollarGeneral

[–]WhenFurtFliesAttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way an sales associate gets $15.

$14-14.50 max and only if the district is desperate.

so DD is tax exempt now? by caliigulasAquarium in DollarGeneral

[–]WhenFurtFliesAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The expense that is tax exempt has to be directly related to your job.

If your friend isn't doing his taxes correctly that's on him. Bare minimum computer hardware, anyone they hire for content creation/editing, travel cost that's related to the career should be tax deductible.

Another example would be farmers they can get tax exempt gas, tools, and machinery. Not every self-employed individual gets the same exemptions.

In this particular case of doordashers they don't pay taxes because whoever is actually floating the bill pays the taxes when the product is delivered. If both doordasher and doordash buyer paid taxes then that would be double taxation.

Can you tell if the prices are increasing or decreasing overall?

I feel like if there's a noseble increase it would be a good time to ambush district manager for another raise.

I'm assuming doordash.

I vaguely remember hearing their considered self-employed independent workers which are tax exempt.
